SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A 53-year-old woman caught in the crossfire of an argument between two men in the Mountain View neighborhood of San Diego suffered a non-life threatening gunshot wound, police said Saturday morning.The men were arguing at 37th Street and Ocean View Boulevard about 11:40 p.m. Friday, according to Officer Robert Heims of the San Diego Police Department.The victim was sitting in a vehicle that was between the two men as they argued. During the argument one of the men pulled a gun and shot at the other man, but struck the women in her left hip, Heims said.The woman drove away and police found her about a block away. SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A DUI/Driver's License checkpoint in the Mission Bay area of San Diego resulted in 11 arrests, police said Saturday morning.More than 660 vehicles went through the checkpoint at 2600 Ingraham St., between 11:20 p.m. Friday and 3 a.m. Saturday and nearly 600 of those vehicles were screened, according to Officer Mark McCullough of the San Diego Police Department.Of the vehicles screened, 18 drivers were evaluated and 11 were arrested on suspicion of DUI in or near the checkpoint, including one driver who was taken into custody after he failed to stop for the checkpoint and crashed his vehicle, McCullough said.Police also cited seven drivers for unspecified violations and impounded nine vehicles.Another checkpoint is scheduled for Saturday, but the time and location were not immediately disclosed. 836

Donovan Correctional Facility in Otay Mesa to wear body cameras while interacting with inmates, a first for California.The ruling comes in a civil rights lawsuit over disabled inmates' rights, in which a federal judge found evidence to support allegations of physical abuse of prisoners at the prison, the Los Angeles Times reported.The order applies to interactions with all inmates with disabilities inside the Otay Mesa facility, according to The Times.Attorneys for the inmates with disabilities had asked the judge to issue an order mandating body cameras for correctional officers after documenting widespread physical abuse of the inmates, the Los Angeles Times reported."Body cameras have never been used in California prisons.
