The separation of church and state has come under much scrutiny during this election season.At Zion Baptist Church in Denver, Pastor Rev. Frank Davis is encouraging members of his congregation to vote with faith.“My faith is voting what the bible says about right and wrong, about what the bible about a good neighbor,” he said.While leading a prayer service, Rev. Davis addressed issues ranging from race and religion to prophecies and politics.“America cannot be great with the division that it shares,” he said.A recent survey by the PEW Research Center shows nearly two-thirds of Americans want religious institutions to stay out of politics.Some churches, however, are still getting involved.During this presidential election, members of Zion Baptist Church are stepping outside of their house of worship and helping voters on the ground level.“As a faith-based entity, as a Christian entity, we believe that we are guided by principals that are really higher than day-to-day politics,” said Gwendolyn Mami, one of many members of Zion Baptist Church volunteering their time during this election by providing voters free rides to polling sitesVolunteers are also picking up and delivering ballots to those unable to do so for themselves.It’s a different kind of church service and comes at a time when there are questions nationally about both voter fraud and voter suppression.“This is a very strange time in which we are living,” Mami said. “There is a lot of confusion there is a lot of misinformation.”While Zion Baptist has a long history of political and social involvement in their community, Rev. The Russian government denied Monday that it had interfered in the 2016 US election campaign in the Kremlin's first remarks since 13 Russian nationals were indicted Friday on charges of conspiring to defraud the US.Answering a question from CNN on a weekly telephone news conference, the spokesman for Russian President Vladimir Putin, Dmitry Peskov, said the indictments provided "no substantial evidence" of Russian meddling, and that there were "no indications that the Russian state could have been involved.""We didn't see any substantial evidence of someone interfering in the domestic affairs," Peskov added. The Stallion Springs, California Police Department is warning the public about a cell phone "spoofing" scam that's going around asking for personal information. The spoofing scam appears to look like a legitimate phone call as the caller ID is displayed as the victim's own cellphone number.A voice recording identifies the call is coming from AT&T, and advises the victim that their cellphone account has been compromised and they may be a victim of fraud. The voice recording then asks for the victim to confirm their personal information, specifically asking for the last four digits of their social security number.AT&T confirmed to Stallion Springs Police that this is a phone scam. Police advise that if you receive calls like this, to not answer them. The RV industry, like every other sector of the travel industry, took a hit in business at the start of the coronavirus pandemic.“April was down about 30 to 35%,” said Jim Bracking.Bracking is the manager of the Loveland RV Resort in Colorado.“For every reservation we were gettingm we were getting a couple of cancellations,” Bracking added.However, about a month after a slew of cancellations came in, things have started to pick up significantly.“Reservations are up quite a bit,” said Bracking. “If you have been in the office, you could see the reservation clerks are very busy.”Vacationers started rebooking road trips as soon as Colorado and other states started to reopen.“You just got to get some form of normalcy back and yet be safe. This is one of the only ways we know how to do it,” said Suzie Limppo, who is vacationing in an RV at Loveland RV Resort.RV resorts, RV parks, and RV rentals are seeing a bounce back across the country.“We are now up over 1,000 percent from where we were in April,” said Jon Gray with RVshare.RVshare rents RV to vacationers and it’s just one RV rental company that has seen dramatic increases in rentals.“There is a premium on keeping your distance. There’s a premium on driving to where you want to go instead of flying, because people are afraid to get on airplanes right now,” said Gray. “So, we thought those things benefitted our business, but we didn’t realize it benefitted it as much as it has. The summer season begins in Del Mar in less than a month, bringing with it a wealth of exciting events, but also a large influx of crowds and traffic.As one of the smallest cities in San Diego County, Del Mar has just about 4,000 people. "Somehow we need to pay a little bit of those services through our parking enforcement.
