OCEANSIDE, Calif. (KGTV) - An Oceanside man says his dog is healing from a close encounter with a coyote that was caught on his doorbell camera. CC, a 13-year-old Maltipoo, was attacked by the coyote Wednesday about 9 p.m. at her home on Morgan Creek Way. “Thinking I’m never going to see her again,” said Joe Vines Jr., CC’s owner. Video from the Ring camera shows CC scurrying into the front yard as Vines locks his door. He was about to put CC in the car to run errands when he heard her cry for help. Vines turned around to find CC in the coyote’s jaws. RELATED: Dog named Roadrunner escapes coyote in chase down Vista street“His whole mouth was around her body, holding her like that,” Vines said. “In my head I’m thinking, I’m not going to let me dog….I’m not going to let her leave in someone's mouth.” Vines chased down the coyote, which dropped CC nearby. CC had several deep bites. She suffered two broken ribs and now has breathing problems. Vines will keep a closer eye on his dog from now on. The Helen Woodward Animal Center said it has been receiving more reports of coyote attacks than ever before. (KGTV) - A woman run over and killed by a construction vehicle at an Oceanside beach was identified by the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office.The ME’s Office said 68-year-old Carol Aguirre died in the incident that occurred Sept. 28 on the beach near Oceanside's South Harbor. Aguirre was listed as a transient, the office noted.Oceanside police said the victim was lying on the sand on the beach off the 1200 block of North Pacific Street at around 10 a.m. when the incident happened.RELATED: Woman run over, killed by heavy machinery on beachAccording to police, the woman was apparently asleep when a tractor, which was involved in a dredging project at nearby Oceanside Harbor Beach, struck her.The woman died at the scene.It was not immediately known if the victim was in an area closed off to the public when she was run over by the heavy machinery. 889

OAKLAND, Calif. — Twitter says it will label or remove misleading claims that try to undermine public confidence in elections.This includes attempts at undermining people's faith in the process itself, such as false claims about election rigging or ballot tampering.It also includes misleading claims about the results of elections, like claiming victory before results have been certified, or inciting unlawful conduct to prevent a peaceful transfer of power or orderly succession.“The goal is to further protect against content that could suppress the vote and help stop the spread of harmful misinformation that could compromise the integrity of an election or other civic process,” wrote Twitter in a blog post.The policy goes into effect Sept. 17.
