In addition, parents filled out a Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire about their child’s development and behavior.Overall, researchers found that preschool aged children from dog-owning homes had reduced likelihood of conduct problems and increased likelihood of prosocial behavior compared to children without a dog. Positive results were seen with family dog walking at least once a week and active play between the family and dog at least three times or more a week.The study’s authors report part of their motivation for the study was the decreasing physical activity levels of young children. (KGTV) -- Thursday, the world’s first autonomous robotic kitchen assistant, Flippy, made its debut.Flippy will begin working alongside kitchen staff at CaliBurger’s Pasadena location.Flippy will, of course, be flipping burger patties and removing them from the grill.The robotic arm was created by Miso Robotics, a company that specializes in robotics and artificial intelligence solutions.The company also developed Miso AI, a cloud-connected learning platform that powers the robotic arms.The technology can detect when the raw burger patties are places on the grill and monitors each one as it cooks.Miso AI displays cooking time and alerts staff when it’s time to place the cheese on top of the patty or dress the burger. 755

OTAY MESA, Calif., (KGTV) — Thursday's Caliente Fire turned into a massive blaze at a pallet yard in Otay Mesa, a fire that has burned nearly 500 acres.The business owners returned to the yard Friday to find devastation, as the blaze remained 75% contained.This is not a dream. The life that Francisco and Carolina Ramirez built is now gone. "You're hoping that it will you will wake up in the morning and go back as usual. And then after that, we only see ashes," Ramirez said. Ramirez says his yard was a small city made of 60,000 pallets. But 99.9% of his inventory is now ash. The 8-foot loading dock is now a swimming pool of dirt. PASCO COUNTY, Fla. — A Pasco, Fla. woman was arrested after deputies say she was passed out drunk at the wheel of a parked car with a 5-year-old child in the back seat.20-year-old Sarah Nisse was found after the girl answered a phone call from her father.He called the 5-year-old via FaceTime and was able to see where the vehicle was parked.He found the car at 2509 Success Dr. and immediately removed his daughter from the vehicle and called 911.Fire rescue arrived and tried to administer aid to Nisse. She didn't say anything but raised a middle finger at them. When deputies arrived, Nisse appeared to be 'heavily intoxicated' and was taken to the Medical Center of Trinity.She blew a .276 and .272 three hours after the incident.Deputies say that without proper supervision, the 5-year-old was at risk of possible injury or death due to a large pond being next to where the car was parked, as well as due to the fact that Nisse was driving while under the influence.She was arrested for child neglect, violation of probation and DUI. She was on probation for willful child neglect in reference to a case in 2015 where she had sexual intercourse with a 15-year-old juvenile. 1187

OTAY MESA, Calif. (KGTV) - A 72-year-old man died Friday night after being struck by a semi-truck trailer. San Diego police say the man had pulled off the 905 freeway at La Media Dr. to fix a broken spark plug on his 1980 Honda motorcycle. He was working on the bike when the big rig exited the 905 onto La Media heading east. The driver missed the motorcyclist with the cab but clipped him with the back tires of the trailer, dragging the body for several feet according to investigators. The man was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the semi-truck stopped at the scene and is cooperating with authorities. Police say he could face a misdemeanor charge of involuntary manslaughter. 744
