The CDC’s latest numbers show 40% of U.S. adults reporting some kind of mental health issue – depression, anxiety and substance use among them – because of various challenges and hardships related to the coronavirus.“Dogs are often really familiar and really comforting for people,” Kowal said.Just this week, A.J. is visiting a floor of adolescents who recently attempted suicide.“The kids love him so much,” Smith said. “The way their faces just kind of light up when he comes on the unit. I wish they did that for me.”And Smith says it goes way beyond that.“A.J. is also a dream colleague for staff,” Smith said. “Oh my gosh, so much. He definitely helps when the staff gets stressed out. Authorities have started the arduous task of trying to retrieve a US missionary feared killed on a remote Indian island, careful not to trigger conflict with the islanders.John Allen Chau was last seen last week when he traveled to the forbidden North Sentinel Island in the Bay of Bengal to try to convert the island's residents to Christianity. The Sentinelese, as they are known, have a decades-long history of repelling outsiders, a fact that is near certain to make the journey to find Chau a treacherous one.Indian authorities along with the fishermen who reported seeing Chau's body last week, went near the island on Friday and Saturday in an effort to figure out how to recover the body."We have mapped the area with the help of these fishermen. We have not spotted the body yet but we roughly know the area where he is believed to be buried," said Dependra Pathak, a top police official in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.Pathak said the group spotted several tribe members carrying bows and arrows and walking around the area where the fishermen said they saw Chau's body being dragged and buried."The mission was done from a distance to avoid any potential conflict with the tribespeople as it's a sensitive zone," he said. "We are discussing with anthropologists and psychologists about the nature of the Sentinelese."Pathak said there are a lot of things to consider before they enter the island, including the psychology of its residents."There are legal requirements as well which we need to keep in mind while carrying out the operation. John McCain's Roberta McCain mother will be in attendance at the late senator's funeral this Saturday in Washington, D.C., and his burial service in Maryland, the Associated Press reported. Roberta McCain has outlived the son she called "Johnny," as the U.S. Senator from Arizona died on Saturday at the age of 81. McCain will be lain in state at the U.S. Capitol on Friday before his final services on Saturday. Roberta McCain, at age 96, was active on the campaign trail for her son during his presidential bid. As we head into cold and flu season, you can expect things will be handled differently at workplaces, schools, day cares and medical offices because of COVID-19.Anyone with symptoms like a runny nose, a cough or sneezing will likely be asked to stay home.“So, I think there's going to be a requirement for any of these symptoms for employee health at the workplace to take a larger role in screening patients probably a lot more testing,” said Dr. Scott Joy, Chief Medical Officer at Englewood Primary Care.Joy spoke with us about how people should handle these symptoms during the COVID-19 pandemic. He recommends staying home for 24 hours when you have a cold without a fever.If you have a fever, isolate for up to six days or until you've been fever free for a full 24 hours. If you're coughing or sneezing more than four times in an hour, you should probably stay home and see a doctor.“We haven't had a metric like that before, so we're going to experiment with that data point and see what it does to our workforce and our clinic infection control over this season,” said Joy.Joy also reminds people to get the flu shot.A study in the New England Journal of Medicine found people who got the vaccine had 25% fewer episodes of upper respiratory infections than those who didn't. That means fewer sick days from work and fewer doctor visits.The hope is that COVID-19 measures like handwashing, mask wearing and watching your distance will lead to fewer respiratory infections overall. But should you experience those symptoms, you may be directed to urgent care centers instead.The idea is to keep doctor offices sterile, so people with chronic conditions and other issues feel safe coming in to see their primary care physician.“In the last couple of months, people that have been putting off their care, I just diagnosed a gentleman, new diagnosis with pancreatic cancer,” said Joy. “We're detecting breast cancer, heart disease blood pressure that is out of control.”Urgent care centers are equipped with personal protective equipment and are typically faster, and cheaper than a visit to a hospital emergency room. Authorities are currently hunting a suspect in central Tennessee after a Dickson County sheriff's deputy was shot and killed on Wednesday. The suspect has been added to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation's Most Wanted list.Officials are searching for 31-year-old Steven Joshua Wiggins west of Nashville in connection with the death of Sgt. Daniel Baker with the Dickson County Sheriff's Office.Baker was killed Wednesday morning after responding to a call about a suspicious vehicle. He was found inside his patrol car. Wiggins, who has been arrested for aggravated assault and misdemeanor vandalism in the past, is considered to be armed and dangerous. He’s been added to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation’s Top 10 Most Wanted list. The reward for his capture has been increased to ,500.   843
