SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Saturday marked the first weekend San Diego County restaurants were under indoor dining restrictions and they've gotten creative to stay afloat during the pandemic.Monday the Governor announced San Diego County joined the state's watch list due to the spike in coronavirus cases.The county announced bars, restaurants, wineries, movie theaters, zoos, museums, and cardrooms will need to shutter indoor operations Monday night at midnight.Saturday on Harbor Island, Coasterra debuted a "pop up" dining experience on their 'float' that normally hosts events.Executive Chef and Partner in the Cohn Restaurant Group, Deborah Scott thought their event space on the water (dubbed The Float) was a perfect place for extra seating. Their sister restaurant Island Prime had to close it's doors, due to the new restrictions.So the Island Prime, moved to an island.On the 'float' they can seat up to 68 people, that's 68 plates that Island Prime can now sell at a time. Scott said they were booked Saturday, their first official night, but are not filling it to capacity.She said they want to make sure things run smoothly."My biggest fear is that everyone is going to come out here and have dinner and go, 'Can you just move Island Prime out here?'" She said chuckling. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego State University is warning students that they will need to be re-vaccinated against meningitis after Walgreens gave out shots at non-optimal temperature.According to The Daily Aztec, Walgreens recently discovered that the meningococcus B vaccines, given to 350 students on October 5 and 8, weren’t given at the right temperature.The company says its reaching out to students who received them. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego Police released Thursday the name of a man who was shot and died after reportedly breaking in to a San Carlos home. Hollis Forman, 38, entered the home in the 6300 block of Lake Shore Drive July 16 and began fighting with the 54-year-old homeowner, police said. The homeowner’s wife called 911 as her husband confronted the man. Police said the homeowner’s 20-year-old son grabbed a gun and shot Forman, who ran out the back door and fell into the pool. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego Police searched Tuesday for the man who may have groped several women in the South Bay.The most recent encounter happened Sunday at 7:30 p.m. as the woman was walking on Iris Ave. and Oro Vista Rd. in Nestor, police said.A man walking the opposite direction grabbed the woman’s breast, then ran away.The woman wasn’t hurt and told police the man didn’t appear to have a weapon.Police said the man was Hispanic, in his early 20’s, 5’6” tall with a heavy build. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt with the hood up, black athletic shorts, and black shoes.The man may be responsible for two similar attacks in the same area, said officers.The first incident happened October 30 at 7:30 pm. and the second was January 17 at 9:30 p.m., both on Oro Vista Rd. near the I-5 and 905 interchange.Anyone with information is asked to call the San Diego Police Department at 619-531-2000. 916

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — San Diego Zoo and Safari Park hope to reopen "in the coming weeks" now that California has released guidance for zoos to open their gates starting Friday.Last week, the state released guidance for county's approved for accelerated reopenings to open businesses like zoos, family entertainment centers, gyms, bars and wineries, and more starting June 12.(The state's criteria for sectors can be found here.)In a statement to 10News, the zoo said staff are reviewing the state's guidance to plan how to best reopen amid the coronavirus pandemic:"We are delighted to receive word from the Governor letting us know that the San Diego Zoo and the San Diego Zoo Safari Park will be able to open this month. We have just received information from the State regarding the requirements and guidelines for us to re-open and are reviewing this document so we can determine next steps to open safely and responsibly for our community.
