(KGTV) — A 4.7-magnitude earthquake hit just outside the town Southern California town of Ridgecrest late Thursday.The quake struck near area of Little Lake, Calif., about 20 miles away from Ridgecrest just after 5:40 p.m., according to the U.S. Geological Survey. Gavin Newsom told reporters Wednesday that the state is declaring a statewide emergency in order to take advantage of additional government resources. The declaration comes after developments that a California patient died of coronavirus after reportedly being infected on a cruise from San Francisco to Mexico from Feb. 11 to Feb. 21.The victim was an elderly adult with underlying health issues and was in isolation at the time of death, Placer County health officials said. The cruise ship that the victim had been on earlier is currently being investigated by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Another passenger who is infected is in stable condition at a Sonoma County hospital.The ship is currently at sea, but testing kits will be flown out to its crew for passengers to be tested before the ship docks in San Francisco."There’s a reason that we didn’t want the ship in the Port of San Francisco and in the state of California at this time," Newsom said. From harmless to deadly snakes with enough venom able to kill 10 men with one strike. Johnson headed up to the Phoenix Herpetological Society in north Scottsdale, a rescue for about every type of reptile. One day Johnson was transporting a cobra, pulling its container. She tried giving him antivenom the hospital did have, hoping it would save his life. Nothing was working."He was no longer able to open his eyes," Ruha said. "He was becoming weak. He was having trouble speaking."The only option was to fly the 10 vials of antivenom from Denver to Phoenix. Finally, eight hours after the bite, Johnson was starting to come back. "There was an angel on my shoulder," Johnson said. "Beyond Dr. Ruha, who is my personal angel, and I guarantee you that."Today, Banner University Medical Center has the cobra antivenom on-hand. It's also expanding what types it does carry.
