SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Recent changes at the border are being felt as President Trump considers a total border shutdown to combat the immigration crisis. Customs and Border Protection officials announced the reduction of the commercial lanes at Otay Mesa from 10 lanes to 8 Tuesday. “4 to 5 hours,” said one driver who added another man in his fleet took more than 6 hours to make it across Wednesday. Companies say drivers are missing deadlines or just skipping the day altogether to avoid the delays. “They lose millions,” said driver Benjamin Alfaro on the already cumbersome process taking even longer, “so if they don’t do that in the normal time of course they lose money. It’s a lot of pressure on everybody.” The President is expected visit the Southwestern border on Friday. 788

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego County is no longer abnormally dry, according to a new report from the U.S. Drought Monitor. The report shows a large swath of Southern California having no drought. Most of California, however, remains abnormally dry, according to the report. According to the National Weather Service, the San Diego International Airport measured nearly four inches of rain since October 1st. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) – San Diego authorities are investigating a string of robberies involving thieves wielding hammers.San Diego police and sheriff’s department officials confirmed four incidents are being investigated, and they are trying to determine if the robberies are connected.At around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, police were called to a Circle K store on Tierrasanta Boulevard due to a robbery carried out by multiple males armed with hammers. It is unknown what the thieves took in the robbery.About an hour later, a man told police that several men with hammers confronted him at a convenience store near Black Mountain Road and ransacked his car before fleeing.Several minutes later, police responded to a 911 call from a driver who reported being flagged down on Maya Linda Road by a man who said he was robbed by a group of people with hammers.A fourth robbery involving a group armed with hammers was reported at a 7-Eleven in Mira Mesa, authorities said.No injuries were reported in any of the incidents, ABC 10News learned.Authorities do not have detailed descriptions of the assailants. 1100

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego Gas & Electric customers across San Diego County are on standby Thursday for possible power outages due to an increased risk of fire. About 34,000 homes and businesses received 48 hours' notice of the possible shut-off to lower the hazard posed by power lines, according to SDG&E. The utility company issued two additional notices Thursday and downgraded the number of affected customers to about 18,000 at 4:45 p.m."Notifications are made via multiple channels: outbound dialer calls, text messages, and emails. "You have to make sure that it [the generator] is working so that we have some power. Get us through this little event. Hopefully it doesn’t turn into a big event!"CSU San Marcos prepares for possible power outagesDesena said the last time he used his backup generator was during the Red Flag Warning last November. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego Police are investigating Monday a woman's report that she was held against her will in Rancho Pe?asquitos.A woman arrived at a home on Caminito Cuadro at 10:45 a.m. and said she had been kidnapped and held captive in a neighboring house, police said. The location is in a residential area near SR-56 and Carmel Mountain Road.Neighbors told 10News they saw a naked woman covered in a bedsheet leave the home.The woman was taken to a nearby police station for an interview, police said.10News is monitoring developments in this story. 569
