CLEVELAND, Ohio — An 11-year-old boy stole his parents' SUV and led police on a high-speed before crashing it late Sunday night, Brooklyn, Ohio police confirmed Monday.WEWS television station has confirmed, through a police report, that this is the same boy who at 10 years old led Ohio State Highway Patrol on a 100 mph chase last fall.It started at 10:59 p.m. when Brooklyn police saw a black Dodge Durango pull into the driveway of a former city fire station. The 11-year-old fled from police and traveled out of the fire station and onto Memphis Avenue.Police pursued the vehicle heading eastbound on Memphis Avenue to Pearl Road.The 11-year-old continued to drive recklessly, reaching speeds higher than 70 mph. When Parma Heights police received a call from the boy's father at 11:06 p.m., saying his son was driving the Dodge Durango, officers from the Brooklyn Police Department canceled the pursuit.At 11:30 p.m., police spoke to the boy's father who received a call telling him that his son crashed into a parked truck in the area of 958 West Schaff in Cleveland.The boy was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center with minor injuries. He told officers that he was not being pursued when he crashed into the SUV.Felony charges will be filed on the driver in juvenile court, police said. 1325

Those two words cause a lot of stress, anxiety, even depression in so many Americans out there.Like Denise Ferguson.“Oh, my student loans are going to outlast me!” Ferguson said.Like 41 million other Americans, Denise is drowning in student loan debt — 0,000 in her case.“It’s funny because I’m an attorney and a lot of people assume that we attorneys are rich and wealthy,” she said.Well, rest assured, Denise is not one of those types of attorneys.She works with abused and neglected children in the foster care system.“We’re the only alleged first-world country that has all these issues with student loans and people being put into debt in order to do something good,” she said.Denise went to a state school in Pennsylvania for college, the University of Akron for law school.Fifteen years later, the amount of student loan debt she has barely has a dent in it.“If I win the lotto, it’ll get paid off. If I don’t win the lotto, there’s no hope that that’s ever going away,” Denise said. “My house only cost ,000 if that puts anything in perspective.”The average student loan debt for graduates is about ,000. Worst case scenario is that there is some forgiveness or some relief and now you have choices,” DiTullio said. He also suggests borrowers "earn differently" during the pandemic if they have to, to avoid defaulting. CORONADO (CNS) - The City of Coronado and The Port of San Diego closed the Grand Caribe Shoreline Park Thursday until further notice, citing public health orders during the ongoing pandemic.The port had reopened the park in May, but because of heavier-than-usual use at the park -- which abuts Chula Vista on the bayside of the Coronado Cays -- it has become challenging to enforce social distancing for visitors."However, due to heavier than normal use, enforcement of the State and County’s health orders, which requires measures to ensure park visitors are social distancing from others, has become a challenge," a release from the port read.The park will be closed until gatherings are allowed without restrictions. "Closed" signs will be posted at the park, and the Coronado Police Department will assist the port with enforcement of the closure. 859

College students are stepping up to help working moms during the pandemic with a virtual tutoring service called Project Matriarchs.Two students on a gap year came up with the idea. After talking with parents about balancing work and remote learning for their kids, they found moms were shouldering most of the responsibilities. Some were resorting to dropping out of the workforce.“It was just this reoccurring conversation we'd have where people felt so overwhelmed and so alone and we were like OK we just, we need to do something, not only for these women who are experiencing this right now, but also for ourselves in our peer group who are going to be inheriting these norms very soon,” said Lola McAllister, co-founder of Project Matriarchs.Here's how it works. Forms to sign up are online. College students will be vetted to become tutors. Then, the site will match them with kids based on availability and what subject they need help with. The tutors can either volunteer or make an hour, but most parents don't pay anything at all.Project Matriarchs relies on donations to keep the service available for families who need it most.“So many of these kids in different school systems especially are getting left behind, not on purpose or not because the teacher can help it, but just kind of having the one-on-one support that isn't a cost burden that is accessible to everyone I think has just proven to be really important,” said Pilar McDonald, co-founder of Project Matriarchs.The founders are now in talks with employers about offering their service. 1574
