SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A dog owner is making desperate plea for the return of her puppy after a burglary at her Spring Valley home."Up all night crying ... I can barely see through my eyes," said Ashley Morales.The Morales' family dog Snuffles, a 4-month old Pekachu, was inside their condo just after 9 a.m. Sunday. Two of Morales' children, ages 11 and 13, were sleeping in a bedroom when the strangers broke in. She and her husband weren't planning on being gone long. They were going to the grocery store to buy items for breakfast.Morales and her husband left the door unlocked, and that is how the intruders got in. A neighbor called them during their shopping trip to report something suspicious.When the couple got home less than an hour later, they made a terrifying discovery. Their bedroom was ransacked. A few feet away, their kids' bedroom was untouched. The door had been shut and her kids had slept through it. "We ran upstairs and hugged our kids. This could have turned out so much worse," said Morales.Deputies say the suspects were captured in a neighbor's surveillance camera, which shows them walking in and out of the condo. In one clip, a woman is seen walking out with what appears to be a television. Morales say they also got away with a box of her jewelry."Some of the jewelry my father gave me before he passed away," said Morales.But Morales says her most painful loss is her puppy, which was nowhere to be found. Morales believes the intruders took him."My dog doesn't leave anywhere. If he had gotten out, he would have stayed close to home. I felt like one of my kids was kidnapped. Winslow was previously convicted of raping a homeless woman and exposing himself to two others. After a week of deliberations, the Vista jury found Winslow guilty of raping a woman in Encinitas and exposing himself to two others, but deadlocked on eight other charges. Those charges included rape and kidnapping in connection with two other women. SAN DIEGO (CNS) - The San Diego Zoo Safari Park's youngest southern white rhino began integrating with the rest of the park's rhino herd Wednesday, meeting a rhino other than his mother for the first time since his birth 10 weeks ago.Edward and his mother, Victoria, have remained sequestered from the rest of the herd since his birth in July to allow the two to bond and ensure he builds weight and stamina. The calf's weight has nearly quadrupled since then and he has only entered the Safari Park's rhino enclosure with Victoria.Edward met Helene, an adult female southern white rhino, after she sparred with Victoria, who was very protective of her calf, according to the zoo's animal care staff. Only two northern white rhinos still exist on the planet and both are female.Zoo officials plan to use stem cells and preserved northern white rhino cells to birth a northern white rhino calf within 10-20 years. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A 56-year-old reportedly stabbed his neighbor after the man tried to shoot him with what he believed to be a rifle late Friday night, police say.According to police, the incident happened on the 4400 block of Bermuda Avenue around 10:30 p.m. after a 56-year-old walked to his neighbor’s house to tell him there was water flowing into his yard.When the neighbor, a 50-year-old man, answered the door he was armed with what appeared to be a rifle but later turned out to be a BB gun. As the man shot the gun, his neighbor was able to bush the barrel of the weapon up to avoid being shot.As the man tried to reload, his neighbor pulled out a pocket knife and stabbed his neighbor several times “because he thought he was going to get shot,” police said.Both men returned to their homes and called police. The stabbing victim was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. It’s unclear if any arrests will be made in the case. 965
