They're traveling at about 20 to 25 mph headed north to Oregon where they’ll breed, lay eggs and then die; the next generation will continue on north. FALLBROOK, Calif. (CNS) - A fire that broke out at a Fallbrook home Friday morning spread to surrounding vegetation, but firefighters halted the blaze at a quarter-acre.The blaze was reported just before 4:45 a.m. at an estimated 3,000-square-foot house in the 40300 block of Sandia Creek Drive, San Diego County Sheriff's Lt. Pat McEvoy said.North County Fire Protection District crews responded and found the structure fully engulfed, Cal Fire Capt. Thomas Shoots said. Cal Fire crews were called in once the flames spread to the vegetation surrounding the home.By 5:40 a.m., firefighters had halted the spread of the fire at a quarter-acre, Shoots said. Crews were expected to remain on scene for at least two hours to mop up any hot spots.Deputies and neighbors helped evacuate about 50 horses from the property, McEvoy said. (KGTV) — Escondido Fire Department is working to identify potential patients who came into contact with a firefighter paramedic who has tested positive for coronavirus.Escondido Fire Department says it learned Sunday of a firefighter paramedic who tested positive for COVID-19. Several days earlier, the employee was in contact with other people who later tested positive as well, the department said.The firefighter had recently been at work but was asymptomatic at the time. The department is notifying all patients that may have been in contact with the employee.EFD says the firefighter is currently at home under quarantine and has very mild symptoms.Other EFD staff who were in contact with the firefighter at work have shown no symptoms, tested negative for COVID-19, and are being quarantined and monitored in accordance with CDC procedures."The health and safety of our community remains our highest priority. They bring their own equipment and clean the cleaning supplies when they're done.“As the team leaves the home, they take off the mask, they disinfect the kit before they put it in their vehicle to go to the next home, so they’re not taking contaminants into their vehicle and taking it to another customer,” said Wiersma.There are training videos, daily checklists, and they've even held meetings about how to take your gloves off.“It’s little things but in the same respect, it’s important things,” said Wiersma. “You take all these steps to be careful and precautious and at the very last step, if you don’t take your gloves off right you, might as well not have done the rest of them as far as keeping the team safe.”Angel Gatewood, 24, has been cleaning for Merry Maids for the past year. The hardest part for her, someone who loves customers and customer service, has been keeping her client relationships at a distance.“I still try to maintain that personal relationship with my customers which I think is important because I’m in their house every other week touching their things,” said Gatewood. “Your home is your personal bubble. When somebody enters it, you have to have that trust and I like to maintain that."She loves to connect with people and loves her detail-oriented job, but she has asthma and now has to be even more cautious than ever.“I personally take those extra steps,” she said. “I take my inhaler in every time. I wear two pairs of gloves. I also have eczema. It’s a double problem.
