Cleveland Police say a 16-year-old boy wound up in the ICU at Metro Health because his dad forced him to confront a bully.Police put a warrant out for 36-year-old Carlos Conner, wanted on a felony child endangerment charge.According to a police report, last week Conner forced his 16-year-old son to fight his bully on the street.“My nephew seen the guy who’s been bullying him for a year and a half and he jumped out the car,” said Conner’s sister, Cynthia Conner.Conner says the police report doesn't tell the whole story and that her nephew took it upon himself to fight the other teenager. Both are students at James Rhodes High School.“I think he did the parental, smart thing, let them fight and said ok, after the fight was over, said ok, the fight was over, took his child and took him to the hospital,” she said.Except, when the 16 year old arrived at the hospital, police say it was discovered he had bleeding in his brain and was taken to the intensive care unit.The bullying, according to Conner, started on social media. Her brother, she says, made numerous attempts to stop it, but the problem was never solved.“This has been going on for a year and half, you don’t think my brother could’ve forced him to get out the car a year and a half ago? Here, here he is, I’m going to bring you right to him, fight him. My brother’s not a bad guy,” she said.Conner claims this was in fact a dispute between her brother and his ex-wife who filed the police report.According to the police report, detectives did not get a statement from the 16 year old and have not yet identified the other teen involved. 1616

She's continued to operate despite many challenges along the way.The business took a financial hit, forced to sell their van and take out a loan.But from the wreckage came kindness and love from the community.Shanel's husband Steve worked tirelessly to build a new flower shop.His friends at WeldTec Designs let him use their shop and tools, all while helping him along the way. The business also received donations from a Go Fund Me page.The Coronado Flower Lady will first have a soft launch in the next week and then a grand re-opening with city leaders.  783

Consumers, especially men, should not purchase or use two e-cigarette liquids that contain popular erectile dysfunction drugs, the Food and Drug Administration warned Tuesday.The two HelloCig e-liquids contain tadalafil and sildenafil, the main ingredients in two of the most popular male enhancement drugs on the market, the FDA said. "These FDA-approved prescription drugs are not approved for inclusion in e-liquid products sold over the counter and are therefore being sold illegally."By not properly labeling the e-liquids, the agency said, the company was not providing adequate warnings for the protection of users, specifically anyone with erectile dysfunction, high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol or heart disease who take nitrates to manage their condition."These undeclared ingredients may interact with nitrates found in some prescription drugs such as nitroglycerin and may lower blood pressure to dangerous levels," the FDA said in its warning.A lab analysis found both sildenafil and tadalafil in E-Cialis HelloCig E-Liquid and sildenafil in E-Rimonabant HelloCig E-Liquid, both sold by Shanghai-based HelloCig Electronic Technology Co. Ltd.The company has not responded to a request for comment.Although no adverse events have been reported to the agency, all consumers should stop using the products immediately, the FDA said, and anyone who experiences side effects should report them to the FDA's MedWatch Adverse Event Reporting program.The FDA says it sent a warning letter to HelloCig in October, citing a number of concerns about illegal marketing claims. HelloCig was misbranding and selling its products in the United States as an "FDA approved product with FDA," in violation of federal rules."FDA recently warned HelloCig of these issues and contacted the company several times to recommend they recall these products due to the risks to consumers. CLEVELAND — A mother in Shaker Heights, Ohio said her daughter was ridiculed after asking her cheerleading coaches for a larger uniform. Mother Lakessa Taylor claims the fat-shaming didn't end there.Laylonie Dowdell, 16, rejoined the cheerleading squad at Shaker Heights High School this fall, but after a summer off, her uniform was a little snug.Her mother told her to request a new, larger one and the teen said what happened next left her speechless."They basically refused to order me a uniform because they said it held my boobs down," Dowdell said.She not only complained that her top was extremely tight, she told an assistant coach her pants were too small as well."She replied, 'I wonder why? You're eating too much,' and insisted I run laps back and forth to the stop sign and back until my ride got there," said Dowdell.Dowdell said she didn't want to show her two coaches she was upset, so her coping mechanism was to always smile and giggle."You're supposed to be my coach, she's supposed to mentor me, uplift me, but you're putting me down," said Dowdell.In a video from an away game in Medina, Ohio you can see Dowdell having to pull her uniform down.After struggling with it at another game in Mentor, Ohio she said she was approached by the assistant cheerleading coach while holding a hot dog and a pop.Dowdell said the coach asked her: "What are you putting in your mouth now? Why are you eating that?"Dowdell's mom said the hurtful comments left her daughter broken."We train our children to fend off bad things from other children, but we don't train them to defend themselves against adults," Taylor said.Taylor said as soon as her daughter told her what was going on, she notified the principal."I complained to the school on Monday. Today is Friday. I haven't heard anything from the school," said Taylor.While she hasn't heard anything from the school district, Taylor got a chance to talk with the assistant coach."She told me herself, 'Well, Laylonie was laughing and joking and so I didn't think there was anything wrong with what I said. Laylonie talks to me about her weight sometimes, so it was OK for me to say those things to her,' " said Taylor.Since coming forward and sharing her story, both coaches in question have resigned. I've talked to four parents in the last 24 hours," said Taylor.In light of these allegations, the district is praising the head coach for her 23 years of service, calling her a devoted coach, a mentor and a "valuable member" of the athletic department."It's disturbing that the school is commending this lady for all that she has done," said Taylor.The district refused WEWS's requests for an on-camera interview, but a spokesperson said they take complaints of this nature very seriously.In the meantime, Dowdell said for the first time ever she's having issues with her body image."I know I'm pretty, I know I'm beautiful. CORONADO (KGTV) — New rules go into effect on Thursday, August 16, restricting where people can and can't use e-cigarettes in Coronado.The City Council passed an ordinance on July 17 to make the popular devices subject to the same rules as regular cigarettes, banning their use in many public places.According to the new law, e-cigarettes will no longer be allowed in the following unenclosed areas:1. All public property including, but not limited to, streets, highways, alleys, rights-of-way, parkways, sidewalks, parking lots and pathways; 2. Outdoor public places; 3. Outdoor recreational areas; 4. Outdoor service areas; 5. Outdoor dining areas.An exception has been made for the Municipal Golf Course, where smoking is also allowed.Anyone caught breaking the new rule could be subject to a 0 fine. The city will put up new signs to let people know of the change.Language in the City Council proposition showed that city leaders feared vaping devices and the smoke from them could be dangerous to the public health. They also wanted to eliminate confusion by having different rules for different kinds of smoking.E-cigarette advocates say bans like these are counter-productive.The Consumer Advocates for Smoke-Free Alternatives Association sent a statement to 10News that reads, in part, "Smoking laws that include a ban on vaping send the inaccurate and misleading message that e-cigarettes are just as harmful as smoking.
