Tropical Storm Beta has made landfall on the Gulf Coast of Texas, bringing heavy rain and threats of flooding to the Lone Star state. At least two dozen water rescues were reported in Houston early Tuesday morning. The center of Beta crossed over the southern end of the Matagorda Peninsula at about midnight ET on Tuesday, according to the National Hurricane Center. (KGTV) - A North San Diego County resident resorted to Wild West measures after he was the victim of a crime, creating "Wanted: Dead or Alive" posters to find a thief.The San Diego Sheriff’s Office says approximately ,800 worth of items ranging from power tools to a mountain bike were stolen from a home on Valley Center Road on February 16.SDSO was working the case when the homeowner told deputies he had hung posters with the suspect’s image bearing ‘wanted dead or alive’ and the station’s number around town.“We don’t encourage vigilantism,” said Sgt. Russell Ryan.Ryan says SDSO asked the man to remove the posters but the man claimed he was exercising his first amendment rights.SDSO’s Valley Center substation took to Twitter to clarify they were, in fact, looking for the suspect but there was not a death warrant for alleged thief.Deputies were able identify the suspect as 23-year-old Jose Martinez, thanks to the homeowner's surveillance video. Martinez was taken into custody on Wednesday.Martinez is currently being held at the Vista Detention Facility on several burglary-related charges and is believed to be related to other recent thefts, according to SDSO.Sgt. UPDATE (5:21 p.m. Wednesday): Police say they have found the missing boy safe and he has been reunited with his family.CHULA VISTA (KGTV) -- The Chula Vista Police Department is asking for the public's help finding a missing Otay Ranch boy.Police say they received a call at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday afternoon from a mother who said her 11-year-old son wasn’t home. Officers responded and are now searching an area in the 1500 block of El Prado. A Chula Vista police helicopter was seen circling the Village of Montecito neighborhood announcing a description of the boy. The child, a Hispanic male, was last seen wearing a blue "Smurf" short-sleeved shirt and black shorts, according to police. Police say the boy stands 5-foot tall with a thin build.A person describing himself as the child's father posted a Facebook message pleading for the community's help locating his son."Hi FB fam.....my son Santigo is missing. VENTURA, Calif. (KGTV) - A suspect who led California Highway Patrol officers on a pursuit onto the 101 Freeway died of an apparent poisoning.The chase began Wednesday in Oxnard during a vehicle check, according to ABC-affiliate KABC. CHP officials said information came back on the car belonging to a rape suspect. When officers tried to pull the vehicle over, the driver refused, KABC reported.The chase continued northbound onto the 101 Freeway and ended in Ventura. The vehicle came to a stop in the center median, though CHP officers told KABC it's unclear if the suspect crashed of stopped the vehicle on his own.The suspect was seen motionless outside his vehicle, with the passenger-side glass shattered, according to KABC. Officers told the station they believed the suspect possibly poisoned himself.No officers were reportedly injured.Both sides of the 101 Freeway were initially shut down between Sanjon Road to Seaward Avenue, but some lanes have since reopened, KABC reported. 1028

But on Monday, riders were on the lookout for a pair of goats.According to the New York's Metro Transportation Authority, a pair of goats were spotted roaming subway tracks in Brooklyn on Monday morning.According to WNBC-TV, the goats were first spotted on N train tracks near Green-Wood Cemetery. Police and animal control responded to capture the two animals.The MTA originally said that the goats were not affecting service, but WNBC later reported that trains were rerouted to allow officials to capture the goats.The goats were reportedly tranquilized and taken to an animal shelter.In a tweet on Monday, the MTA called the two delinquent goats " very baaaaad boys."  792
