A Buckeye, Arizona man on active duty with the United States Air Force was booked into jail this week on second-degree murder charges after the death of his infant. On June 13, 2017, Phoenix Police responded to a report of a 3-month-old boy who was pronounced dead at Phoenix Children's Hospital. According to police paperwork, 25-year-old John Centano, the child's father, said he was home alone with the baby for about 20 minutes before he found him unresponsive on the master bed. He said it was about a minute or two after he left the child alone, face-down on the bed, to quickly grab shower items from the hallway bathroom. According to staff at the emergency room, Centano reportedly said he took a shower and returned to find the child unresponsive. An autopsy was performed on the child and his death was ruled a homicide due to complications with head trauma and other internal injuries. Investigators found evidence at the home suggesting that no shower items were retrieved from the hallway bathroom. Police say Centano made several inconsistent statements, including blaming their large dogs for the child's injuries. Centano was arrested on Tuesday and booked into jail on felony counts of second-degree murder and child abuse. Police documents show that Centano was employed with the United States Air Force on active duty.  1422

A Las Vegas personal injury lawyer has been arrested in a theft case stretching back years.Beginning in March, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department detectives began to receive reports from multiple victims regarding a local personal injury lawyer. Victims that have to this date filed police reports, all allege that their personal injury attorney, later identified as 53-year-old Matthew Dunkley, misappropriated financial settlements the victims were to receive as a result of their cases in which Dunkley represented them.The reports indicated that Dunkley, in addition to misappropriating the settlements to the victims, also took money from the insurance companies that were intended to cover the victims’ medical bills. The victims never received their settlements and are now being held personally responsible for the unpaid medical bills. On Monday, Dunkley was located by detectives with the LVMPD Major Violators Section Repeat Offender Program and taken into custody. He was transported to the Clark County Detention Center where he faces at least 39 counts of theft.As of his arrest, detectives believe approximately .8 million was taken from victims.Detectives are asking any additional clients of Dunkley Law who may be awaiting settlements and were victimized by this scheme, to contact the LVMPD Theft Crimes Bureau at 702-828-3483.Clear Counsel Law Group has assumed some of the cases, but these clients may still have been victimized by Dunkley.In 2017, the Nevada bar asked Clear Counsel to assist Mr. Dunkley's former clients with open legal matters. Clear Counsel Law Group has no other relationship with Mr. Dunkley.Many of these cases were from personal injury cases that had occurred as far back as 2012, and one of the incidents involved a 5-year-old child who had been the victim of a dog attack. A golfer in Colorado is recovering after being gored by an elk over the weekend, splitting one of his kidneys.Zak Bornhoft was at Evergreen Golf Course about an hour west of Denver on Saturday evening. He and his friends saw dozens of elk near the course and thought they would be safe if they kept their distance, according to reports.He tells local media the large elk charged at him while he sat in a golf cart near the 17th hole. The person driving the cart brought him to the clubhouse to get help.The Elk’s antler sliced his left kidney in two. Bornhoft was rushed to the hospital, and treated in the ICU. He is reportedly making a good recovery.Elk are allowed to roam freely in the area of the course, and wildlife officials say attacks on golfers are rare. 773

A man picking up passersby flagging him and his buggy down for a ride is calling his service "Amish Uber."The service is not affiliated with the actual Uber ride-sharing service, but it has been popular in the town of Colon, Michigan, where driver Timothy Hochstedler is using a horse and buggy to cart folks around.Hochstedler has a sign on his buggy that says each ride is and he was offering rides during the town's recent  81st annual Abbott's Magic Get Together festival.WWMT television station talked with people who paid for rises in the buggy, and they said the experience was unique and fun. 626
