EL CAJON (KGTV) — Some amateur detective work by an East County business owner helped deputies track down two men suspected of stealing a popular wrought iron horse statue.Deputies arrested 56-year-old Percy Hill in Arizona and 62-year-old Rick Freeman near Lakeside on Friday.The men are accused of stealing the 10-foot-tall horse statue from outside the Double S Tack and Feed Store in unincorporated El Cajon on October 2. The statue weighs about 250 pounds, said owner Rita Gallant, somewhat lighter than initial estimates.After the theft, Gallant gathered surveillance video from nearby businesses and solicited tips on social media from the East County community.The video showed two vehicles were involved in the heist, including a distinctive Suzuki Samurai with a yellow flag mounted on a window, Gallant said. But the big break came on October 22, she said. Employees sounded the alarm when two men pulled up in the same Suzuki Samurai with the yellow flag. The men asked about purchasing yard art. Gallant thinks they were actually scoping out more things to steal."Not very smart," she said.After the store posted pictures and videos of the second encounter, a tipster was able to identify one of the men and deputies made arrests in two states."I never dreamed at all that I would ever get the horse back. I just wanted to make sure the people that stole him paid for it," she said.Gallant said she spoke with investigators who interviewed the suspects. "The gentleman took it for his yard," Gallant said. "He was doing a western theme."She drove the roughly 250-pound statue home from Arizona Monday night in a horse trailer. Disneyland Park has shut down two cooling towers at its park in Southern California following an outbreak of Legionnaires' disease.Orange County health officials said nine people who visited the Anaheim theme park in September developed the disease.An additional three people who had been to Anaheim but not Disneyland got sick too, said Jessica Good, a spokeswoman for the Orange County Health Care Agency. One patient, who had not visited the park and had additional health issues, died, she said.The 12 patients are between ages 52 and 94, and 10 were hospitalized, she said.CNN has reached out to Disneyland for comment but has not heard back."To date, no additional Legionella cases have been identified with potential exposure in Anaheim after September," Good said. "There is no known ongoing risk associated with this outbreak."Legionnaires disease is a severe form of pneumonia caused by Legionella bacteria, sometimes found in water systems. It is typically contracted by breathing mist from the water that contains it. The source of the mist can be air conditioning units in large facilities, showers or hot tubs. Legionnaires' disease is not contagious between humans.County health officials identified Disneyland Park as a common location of eight of the cases last month, and have been working to identify potential sources, Good said.Disneyland Park informed health officials this month that elevated levels of Legionella had been identified in two of its 18 towers, which were then treated and disinfected.Disneyland took the towers out of service on November 1 and told the health agency it had performed additional disinfecting and testing. It brought the towers back into service November 5, but two days later, they were taken out of service again,she said.Health officials subsequently issued an order that the towers remain shut down until they are verified to be free from contamination. Eight people were injured during a shooting at the Mayfair Mall in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, Friday afternoon, chief of police Barry Weber told reporters. Weber confirmed that seven of the injured were adults, while one teen was among the victims. Weber did not know the extent of their injuries. Weber said when police arrived at the mall Friday afternoon, the shooter was no longer at the scene. As of early Friday evening, a suspect has not been found. EARLESVILLE, Md. — Deputy State Fire Marshals are investigating an incident that left a Maryland student burned on a school bus on Tuesday afternoon.Fire crews and investigators were dispatched to Hack's Point General Store located in Earlesville, Maryland when they found the student with burns on his hands.An investigation showed that while the school bus was on route to drop off students from Bohemia Manor High School, the students on the bus notified the driver that there was a cellphone on the floor smoking.They say the 18-year-old student picked up the cellphone from the ground and he burned his hands while attempting to throw it off the bus.The student was later transported to Union Hospital of Cecil County with non-life threatening injuries.Investigators are trying to determine the cause of the phone explosion. 872
