Organizers say all safety protocols by the county will be strictly enforced. This year, customers must remain in their cars and everyone must wear a mask. "Hanukkah Happening Hits the Highway" is taking place on December 6 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The center has two car routes planned throughout the county where families travel to three different places to find Jewish landmarks and symbols. While in the car, there will be Hanukkah stories, music, games, and trivia shared. The event is free, but you will need to pre-register. Each Cirque du Soleil audience is transported to another world watching art unfold on the stage, but behind the scenes is another form of art. “Culinary is one of those few fields left in the world where you can be artistic, can be a form of expression every day.” Chef Scott Veneklase is one of Volta’s four chefs, creating eclectic menus featuring food from all corners of the world. “We try to do a bit of everything, German food, Japanese food, today Italian.” Because the performers come from 25 different countries, their meal is often the closest connection they’ll have to their home. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- The City of San Diego is resuming its enforcement of all parking regulations next month.A two-week grace period begins Wednesday. July 1, with those who violate San Diego parking rules receiving written warnings. Starting Wednesday, July 15, citations with fines will be issued.City officials said resumption of parking enforcement is “identified as one small step toward restoring San Diego’s economy.”“We know many residents are looking forward to visiting their favorite restaurants, breweries, cafes, shops and stores, and restarting our local economy. As the City begins to take careful and measured steps to reopen, we need to make sure parking enforcement, especially in our business districts, allows for a healthy flow of customers, ensures accessibility and reinvests back into our communities,” said San Diego’s Deputy Chief Operating Officer Erik Caldwell.Chris Clark, with San Diego’s Small Business Alliance, added, "Like all San Diegans, local business owners have shouldered the burden of our unprecedented situation the past few months. Now, we are finally starting to sense a return to business and life as usual. While free parking is convenient, parking meters help incentivize turnover at prime parking spaces in business districts. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- The City of San Diego is paying out 5,000 after a violent police dog takedown.The man in a viral video sued the police department for excessive force.10News found out that this isn’t the first time the use of a police dog has been questioned.TIMELINE: San Diego K-9 bitesThe San Diego Police department has relied more on the K-9 unit in the last several years. Police say stats show a sharp increase in the number of times a police dog was deployed and someone was bitten from 2013 to 2016.There were also more dogs and handlers employed within that same three-year time period.Police say that has changed this year. Lt. Scott Wahl says the K-9 units have been to more than 12,000 calls resulting in only 37 bites.One of the more recent bites took place in October. In that incident, the K-9 put an end to a police chase in South Bay.Currently, there are 33 dogs and handlers. The dogs go through an initial 10-week training program followed by four hours of maintenance training a week and 15 minutes of obedience work every day. 1067
