And software handles the most harrowing landings -- when there is no visibility and the pilot can't see anything to even know where he or she is. and report the crime to Cleveland police.On Oct. 16, officers responded to the 1700 block of East 12th Street after receiving a report of a woman who might be involved in a human trafficking case, police said.The woman, who is from Gambia, told police that she was sold to a family as a laborer to take care of a sick and elderly woman from Kuwait.According to the woman, she had been living with the family for the past four years in Kuwait and on Aug. 12 traveled to Cleveland with the family because the elderly woman required medical treatment at Cleveland Clinic.While speaking with police, the woman told officers that the family had been keeping her locked in an apartment at Reserve Square in the 1700 block of East 14th Street. She said that she never had the opportunity to report her situation to police or escape before because the family was either around or, if they left, they would lock her in a bedroom in the apartment.On Oct. 16, the family left her locked in the bedroom and left the apartment around 9:47 p.m., and for the first time she was able to escape, police said.In addition to contacting police, the woman was also able to get in contact with a victim advocate in Arizona. Officers contacted the advocate to get a better understanding of the situation because the woman’s English was very limited, according to police.While talking with the advocate, officers learned that the woman was in fear for her life and said that she didn’t want to go back to the family that held her captive and that she fears going back to Gambia because she believes she will be killed, police said.When officers investigated the apartment the woman said she was being held in, they found that it was vacant, but the smell of hookah was prominent in the empty space, according to police.While with the officers, the woman began receiving multiple calls from a phone number she said belonged to the family that held her captive. When asked, she was only able to provide police with a description of the elderly woman she said she was purchased to care for, police said.The woman was transported to a local organization where she is being given shelter and resources, according to police.The incident remains under investigation.This story was originally published by 2276

One resident in Sarpy County, Nebraska, reported several drones flying in unison last week."Most interesting part is that the drones were flying in the night. People don't know what they are doing there. No feedback from federal agencies, local government and no one really knows what's going on there," said Victor Huang, an assistant professor at the Aviation Institute at the University of Nebraska Omaha.Drones are complex and extremely advanced. They can be used for for film making, emergency services and agricultural monitoring."The drone, similar to our computer systems, it can really do a lot of things. To me, the only limitation is your imagination," Huang said.But no one, not even the Federal Aviation Administration, knows what these drones are doing except that they're flying in a pattern, they're large and there's many of them."They don't know if it's illegal or not because right now there's no way of knowing what is up there," KMTV pilot Justin Enos said.Based on flight patterns and altitude, experts believe it could be some sort of agricultural monitoring. Regardless, the fact that no one can account for them is frightening residents. Some have even talked about shooting the drones down, but that's not a good idea. The mystery drones are reportedly up to six feet in length. If the drones happen to weigh more than 55 pounds, they technically could be considered to be aircraft."If that's a legal registered drone, if you shoot it down, you are essentially shooting an aircraft down. So that is definitely illegal," Huang said."Registered or not, it's going to be dangerous. The batteries on these things are very flammable," Enos said.Enos believes if it's agricultural information the people behind the drones are after, the general public shouldn't be too worried."I think people are concerned, especially people that aren't familiar with drones and the technology," Enos said.The Nebraska State Patrol tweeted Monday that they are working with several sheriff's offices, local police departments and federal authorities to figure out who is behind the drone activity.The FAA has also stated they are aware of the sightings and are investigating.This story was originally published 2217

across Florida to raise awareness about the environment.Charlie Richardson has been running since he was in elementary school."It's a good resetter for me," Richardson said.Now the 18-year-old is chasing a dream and pounding the pavement inside Okeeheelee Park, training for no ordinary workout."This is our home, so if we can't save our home, the future generations that follow us are at risk," Richardson said.Richardson is planning to run from Daytona Beach to Clearwater in December. That's 200 miles in one week."The run is going to be split up over seven days, which is why I'm calling it seven in seven," Richardson said.It all began when Richardson started noticing litter and garbage on his runs."I actually counted on a five-mile run, there was like 42 pieces of garbage," Richardson said.Richardson is also organizing beach cleanups leading up to his run, and he's making weekly YouTube videos about ways to reduce your carbon footprint.Richardson is looking for others to join him, and he's hoping to empower people to change their daily habits."Ultimately, the smallest change I hope to spark in people is they recycle a little bit more and use a little bit less," Richardson said.After the run, Richardson will start school at the University of Florida, where he'll major in computer programming.
