SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — One person was found shot inside their vehicle in the Encanto area on Wednesday, according to police.The shooting occurred in the 6200 block of Varney Drive, near Leaf Terrace and Vado Way, just after 7:30 p.m., according to San Diego Police. Officers arrived to find a man in a vehicle who had been shot at least once.The man was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The man has been identified, though police only described him as a 44-year-old Black male.SDPD says it appeared the victim was in the area with an acquaintance when another vehicle pulled up near the victim and fired several rounds. The suspect then fled the area.Police described the suspect as an unknown race male, wearing all dark clothing. SAN DIEGO (KGTV)- More than a thousand job seekers attended the annual Jobtoberfest at Pechanga Arena in San Diego Tuesday..One of those looking for a new position was Mirella Solis. She's living with cerebal palsy which has kept her in a wheelchair. But, it's not holding her back. "When people look at me. It's been really hard, but I overcome that. You can do anything, I tell people you can do anything in the world," said Solis.Solid has worked in the security field and wants to move onto bigger opportunities so she decided to attend this job fair.Charlene Autolino is the chair of San Diego Committee on Employment of People with Disabilities, which put the fair together. She said the event gives many more than just a job, but motivation to strive for more."Imagine being told for years that you can't do anything because of this disability, or you aren't capable of able which is not true," said Autolino.The organizer of this event will also be hosting a similar job fair specifically for veterans in November. 1031

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Police are investigating after a woman in a surgical mask reportedly robbed a 7-Eleven early Sunday morning. According to police, the robbery happened on the 7800 block of Balboa Avenue just before 3:30 a.m. Police say the woman, believed to be in her 40s or 50s, walked into the store and demanded cash while simulating having a weapon. The suspect then left on foot with an unknown amount of cash. Police say she was wearing a scarf around her neck and a surgical mask. 500

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Police arrested two people following a pursuit through San Carlos Friday night.Officers say they responded to reports of gunshots near the San Carlos Recreation Center around 9:53 p.m. They said they tried to pull over a suspicious vehicle, but it took off. A five-minute pursuit took place before the suspect’s car crashed near the Jackson and Golfcrest Drives.The suspects rushed out of the vehicle, but one was caught after surrendering at a nearby taco shop.  The other one ran into a nearby housing complex. That suspect surrendered after about a three-minute standoff.Police say they found guns in the car. The suspect's names have not yet been released.  713

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Officials with the the Department of Homeland Security announced Friday plans to screen people returning from restricted countries.American citizens, legal permanent residents, and their immediate families returning to the United States will be required to arrive at one of 13 airports for enhanced screening for coronavirus.“While the overall risk of serious infection from the coronavirus to the general public remains low at this time, the Trump administration is taking these aggressive measures to keep the risk low, requiring all Americans returning from affected areas in Europe to be funneled through 13 airports for screening upon their return to the U.S.,” said Acting Secretary Wolf. “To minimize disruptions to travelers, TSA, CBP, and air carriers are working to identify qualifying passengers before their scheduled flights.
