OCILLA, Ga. — A nurse at an immigration detention center in Georgia says authorities performed questionable hysterectomies, refused to test detainees for COVID-19 and shredded medical records.Advocacy group Project South has filed a complaint with the Homeland Security Department's internal watchdog that relies heavily on the nurse's words.That nurse, Dawn Wooten, worked at the Irwin County Detention Center in southern Georgia. Officials are looking for the suspect responsible for a deadly stabbing in Phoenix.Phoenix police responded to an alley near 15th and Missouri avenues at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday for a report of a stabbing. Officers were alerted to the incident after a passerby called 911 about a man stumbling in the roadway. When officers arrived on the scene they found 58-year-old Alfred Brown with multiple stab wounds. He told officers the suspect, a younger Hispanic male, was heavy set and wearing a white shirt. According to police, Brown was transported to the hospital where he died from his injuries.Brown was a known homeless man who stayed in the area. He was last seen in the area earlier in the day with a Hispanic male who matches the suspect description.   789

It happened just after 10:30 a.m. on the southbound I-5 just north of Harbor Drive near Camp Pendleton. According to the CHP, the driver of a flatbed pulled off to the shoulder to check the equipment he was carrying. The driver of a big-rig hauling an excavator passed by and clipped the rear tire of the truck that was parked. The driver of the semi lost control, went down the embankment, hit a tree and flipped over. Remarkably, the driver is expected to be OK. "Very fortunate, judging the distance and the weight that we're looking at in these vehicles and the condition that the big rig is in that he sustained only minor injuries, " said CHP Officer Mark Latulippe. The big rig also caught on fire, but drivers stopped to help. "After the big rig had come to a stop on its side, a small fire had broken out. Some witnesses and passer-bys that had seen the crash actually stopped and put out the fire with some fire extinguishers," said Officer Latulippe.
