BEIJING, Dec. 29 (Xinhua) -- China's "Belt and Road" is an open and inclusive initiative for regional cooperation and not a geopolitical tool, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lu Kang said on Tuesday.
"We encourage and support the expansion and optimization of mutual investment by enterprises from the two sides," the paper said, adding that China is ready to continue to provide foreign-aid loan on favorable terms to Arab countries, as well as export credits and overseas investment insurance.
With a friendly relationship, China and Arab countries have achieved significant progress in their partnerships in various fields, particularly since the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum was set up in 2004.
The guideline, China's first on the Arab states, details the principles of the cooperation and reiterates Chinese commitment to peace and stability in the Middle East.
Li made the remarks in a statement to a meeting on honoring excellent chronicles staff nationwide.
