(KGTV) - A Pennsylvania groom is accused of sexually assaulting one of his wife’s bridesmaids days before his wedding, which occurred as scheduled. Daniel Carney, 28, is charged with involuntary deviate sexual intercourse of an unconscious person and indecent assault at the Smithfield resort Aug. 30. Police said the assault reportedly happened after Carney and the bridesmaid were drinking alcohol. The bridesmaid told officers she blacked out, and when she regained consciousness her clothes were removed and Carney was fondling her. Surveillance video shows Carney pulling the woman into the men’s locker room, police said. According to police, the assault stopped when the bride caught him, but the wedding went on as planned Sept. 1. Court documents show investigators listened in on a call between Carney and his accuser, KABC reported. (CNN) -- Uber released its highly-anticipated safety report on Thursday revealing, among other details, that it received 5,981 reports of sexual assault in 2017 and 2018.Among those, there were 464 reports of rape.Uber first pledged to release the report nearly a year ago in response to a CNN investigation that found at least 103 Uber drivers in the United States had been accused of sexually assaulting or abusing their passengers in the previous four years. The drivers were arrested, wanted by police, or had been named in civil suits related to the incidents.
