SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego County sheriff's deputies fished a man out of the ocean in Del Mar who they say rammed a Border Patrol truck at the end of a dangerous chase.According to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department's North Coastal Station, it all started when deputies tried to pull the man over in a blue Smart car driving with no lights or a license plate.The driver failed to stop and took out a road sign then drove the wrong way down Coast Boulevard in Del Mar around 1:30 a.m. Thursday.A few minutes later, the man crashed into a Border Patrol truck at the dead-end of 15th Street. No one was inside the truck at the time.Border Patrol agents spotted the driver running towards the beach.The man jumped over the bluffs' edge and plunged naked into the water, where he spent two hours in the surf.He was taken into custody after he was fished out of the ocean by a Border Patrol boat around 4:15 a.m.Deputies are currently attempting to identify the suspect. 982

And if you're going by sea, Biagini says a little research can go a long way in finding a great experience.Here's some tips on how to best view natures gentle giants in San Diego, either by land or sea.By landWhile whale watching from the shore won't get viewers close to the animals, it is a cheaper alternative that can be just as fun.Cabrillo National Monument, Torrey Pines Glider Port, Sunset Cliffs, and Fletcher's Cove in Solana Beach are great spots to watch for sprouts of whales from shore, according to Biagini.At Cabrillo, viewers can head to Whale Overlook or the Old Point Loma Lighthouse to lookout for whales. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego Police officers babysat for a man who needed to go to the hospital Friday night but didn't have anyone to watch his two young daughters. According to the department, officers received a radio call from a young father living in the Alpha apartments. The man reportedly told authorities he was in need of hospital care. “Unfortunately, he had no family or friends to help watch the girls,” the department said.After the man was taken to the hospital, two officers stayed behind to watch the 2-year-old and 4-year-old before taking them to the hospital where they were reunited with their dad.“Dad was emotional and grateful for the support. If someone needs help, we'll be there to respond,” the department continued in the Facebook post.No emergency is too small for our officers. According to police, the crash happened on Reagan Road near Calico Street before 6:30 p.m. Police say the 12-year-old was taken to the hospital with major head injuries.
