SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Three prominent Democrats have filed papers with the City of San Diego declaring their intention to run for mayor in 2020. San Diego City Councilwoman Barbara Bry, Assemblyman Todd Gloria, and Congressman Scott Peters all submitted documents to the City Clerk, allowing them to fund raise for the 2020 primary on March 3. They would replace Mayor Kevin Faulconer, a Republican, who is termed out in 2020. Bry formally announced her candidacy on Wednesday. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Thousands of people visited Seaport Village Saturday to watch outdoor entertainers at the 14th Annual Busker Fest 2020. As the fear of coronavirus spreads, attendees of the festival seemed unbothered by it.Gather around! Let your eyes and ears feast on the marvels of jugglers, daredevils, and aerialists."Buskers have always been a big part of our history down at Seaport Village," Scott Andrews, Marketing Director of Seaport Village, said. Coming to the festival has become a seven-year tradition for Shannon Steward and her nine-year-old son, Aiden. "I like supporting the street performers!" Stewart said. "I never even knew what a busker was until I found out about this festival."New this year: Busker University. It's a special place where kids can learn about art and busking skills. One of the most popular booths is the slime station. Children can make slime by mixing Borax, water, and glue. After playing at the slime station, the kids are encouraged to wash their hands by using either baby wipes or hand sanitizer.Ahead of the event, San Diego Port Authority added hand-washing stations all along the Embarcadero, to quell growing fears of the coronavirus. Regardless, Stewart said good hygiene is something she always preaches to her family. "We are making sure we are washing our hands, not touching too many things, but obviously, we are kind of diving into the slime and no big deal!" Stewart said. She said she is not going to let fear and hysteria ruin their fun."It's at the forefront of our minds, but it's not changing too much of what we are doing right now," Stewart said. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Though there are still votes to be counted, data from the San Diego County Registrar of Voters is showing how residents voted on some of the most widely publicized races this midterm election.While the Registrar's data reports 100 percent of precincts, there are about 490,000 outstanding ballots waiting to be processed — so these numbers are not the county's official results.They do, however, show how San Diegans compare in statewide races.STATEThe race for governor was fairly close according to the data, with Democrat Gavin Newsom leading 53.87 percent to Republican John Cox's 46.13 percent.Cox conceded to Newsom late Tuesday after statewide numbers showed Newsom take the lead, winning 59 percent to 41 percent.RELATED: Nathan Fletcher, Jim Desmond win San Diego County Board of Supervisors seatsIn the race for U.S. Senator, San Diegans voted for Democrat Dianne Feinstein 53.6 percent to fellow Democrat Kevin De Leon's 46.4 percent. In California, Feinstein took about 56 percent of the vote.California's Attorney General race was squarely in the hands of Democrat Xavier Becerra in San Diego County, who gained 55.16 percent of the vote.LOCALAt a local level, the close races continued, with Democrat Mike Levin taking former Rep. Darrell Issa's 49th District seat with 56.86 percent of the vote.The race for the 50th District remained close as well, with Republican incumbent Duncan Hunter holding on over challenger Ammar Campa-Najjar with 53.94 percent of the vote in San Diego.PROPOSITIONSProposition 6, known as the gas tax repeal, took favor in San Diego County with 52.64 percent of the vote. Though statewide the prop failed, only gaining a 45 percent approval vote.The Daylight Saving Time measure, Proposition 7, also had fans in San Diego County with 68.55 percent approval. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - The Rock Church is making holiday giving even easier, teaming up with Express Feedback for Good to raise money for their Toys for Joy campaign.Under the new program, people can sign up to take on-line surveys. For each one they take, the Church will get towards their holiday fundraiser."This is a life or death situation for some kids and some families," says Pastor Miles McPherson.The Toys for Joy program is now in its 23rd year. Each year the Church helps around 20,000 families with food, clothing, toys, and more for the holidays. McPherson says he hopes the new survey tool will inspire people to do more."The express feedback tool gives people the opportunity to do something to help somebody, but we want them to take the next step, touch a person, smile at a person, hear someone's story," he says.The surveys only take about one minute each, and there's a limit of 100 per person. The Church says they hope to raise 0,000 from the surveys, to help supplement the other donations they get each year.The company, Express Feedback for Good, takes the information from the survey and sells it to businesses to help them serve their customers better."It's a win/win for both parties," says Product Manager Dena Coykendall. "The non-profit can create resources, and business can collect information from a crowd that's more representative."This year, the Rock Church will have four locations for their Toys for Joy campaign on December 14th.
