Reba McEntire's former home in Lebanon, Tennessee has been transformed into an event space, allowing people to host events where one of country music's biggest stars lived for more than a decade. The home, now called The Estate at Cherokee Docks, has seven bedrooms and seven bathrooms. Each bedroom is themed after a Country Music, including Garth Brooks, Johnny Cash, Loretta Lynn, Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson, Patsy Cline, and of course, Reba herself. “We really wanted to be intentional about paying homage to Reba. There are lots of details throughout the house, lots of horses — she loved her horses obviously. Then, we paid tribute to Country Music icons in each of the bedrooms upstairs to really speak to that," Andrea Williams with The Estate at Cherokee Docks, said."This is Country Music history here, and so we wanted to keep that tradition alive.” Throughout the rest of the home, there are touches that Reba herself put in place, such as a movie theater and wine cellar in the basement.Where the property really shines is the event space that is available. Renters have many options inside the home and the rest of property, including the pool, the nearby Cumberland River, the tennis court, and an area under the trees planted throughout the property. “Reba is such a huge icon. To be in her space, to see all of the wonderful things, to see all the personal touches that she added to the property, and now to have it open to the public so that they can experience that too," Williams said. "They can walk in her three-floor closet and work out in her gym with the same equipment that was here when she was here. It’s phenomenal and there’s nothing else like it anywhere else in the city."The space is ideal for company retreats, special events, and weddings, giving people the opportunity to rent the property for the day, overnight, or for an extended period of time. To kick off their first year, The Estate at Cherokee Dock is providing 30 percent off new bookings. President Donald Trump says his campaign will join an improbable case before the Supreme Court challenging election results in Pennsylvania and other states that he lost. That word comes as he tries to look past the justices’ rejection of a last-gasp bid to reverse Pennsylvania’s certification of Democrat Joe Biden’s victory. The high court has asked for responses by Thursday. The suit from the Texas attorney general, Republican Ken Paxton, demands that the 62 total Electoral College votes in Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin be invalidated. Legal experts dismiss Paxton’s filing as the latest and perhaps longest legal shot since Election Day, and officials in the four states are sharply critical of Paxton. On Thursday, Trump’s official schedule includes a lunch with state attorneys general. Seventeen Republican attorneys general have joined the Paxton/Trump suit. The lawsuit is a last-ditched effort to overthrow the results of the election, which saw more vote cast for Biden than any other candidate in American history.Trump and his legal team has continued to allege that Biden fraudulently won the election. So far, Trump’s legal team has not been able to substantiate any fraud allegations in court, prompting one federal judge appointed by Trump to write in an opinion, “Charges of unfairness are serious. But calling an election unfair does not make it so. Charges require specific allegations and then proof. We have neither here,” 3rd Circuit Judge Stephanos Bibas wrote. Bibas was appointed by Trump to the federal bench in 2017.Last month, a joint statement released by federal and state officials described the presidential election as the “most secure in American history.”The letter was signed by leaders of the Department of Homeland Security’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, the U.S. Election Assistance Commission and the National Association of State Election Directors, among others. The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency was established two years ago as a branch of Homeland Security during the Trump administration. In bold, the authors of the statement wrote, “There is no evidence that any voting system deleted or lost votes, changed votes, or was in any way compromised.” This statement matches those from secretaries of state and boards of election throughout the US.In response to the letter, Trump fired US election security head Chris Krebs. 2434

RANCHO PENASQUITOS -- A group of residents in Rancho Pe?asquitos is sounding the alarm about a trio of dense developments that could add 1,500 housing units within 1.5 miles of each other. The group, called PQ-NE Action, notes the northwest part of Rancho Pe?asquitos only has one road in and out. They are raising concerns that the road could not handle the influx in the case of an emergency, such as a wildfire evacuation. "We fully understand things are going to change, but not change to a point where the neighborhood becomes threatened from a safety standpoint," said Junaid Razvi, a 40-year resident and spokesman for the group. Two more could be on the site of the Hotel Karlan, which shut down Dec. 31. The hotel portion of the property could be rebuilt into as many as 370 homes. The Encinitas-area development company that owns it did not respond to requests for comment. Meanwhile, Lennar is proposing to build more than 530 new housing units on the hotel's old golf course.PQ-NE Action is now calling on Councilman Mark Kersey to step in. "They are moving fast on this, and so we would like to see a pause," Razvi said. RANCHO BERNARDO, Calif. (KGTV) - More schools are equipping themselves with "lock-down lavatories" amid a rise in school threats posted on social media. At Rancho Bernardo High School, graduate Dallin Dunn felt the pain and embarrassment of using a make-shift bathroom during a lock-down in May of 2017. Two posts on Snapchat put the school on lock-down for hours, forcing his group in the library to take desperate measures."With the stress of testing and the lock-down it was just so much that people had to use the restroom and those trash cans had to be used," Dunn said."Twenty years ago you'd never think you would need some way to create an immediate restroom for students to be able to use," Principal David LaMaster said.Dunn was inspired to create a solution, and changed his Eagle Scout Project last minute focused on his peers."We had actually looked at products to purchase but realizing there's a cost to that, we didn't know how exactly we were going to cover that," LaMaster said.Dunn said he had huge support from the start from the community and school, saying the PTSA footed the bill, "I actually got a grant for ,000 and we used about 0 of that."Dunn coordinated an effort, assembly-line style, creating 102 lock-down lavatories so each room was stocked. He pulled out a foam ring, made of pipe insulation and covered with plastic. The ring cut lengthwise to easily attach to the rim of the bucket, providing a seat. "So you just wrap it around the rim and it's able to collapse into the bucket," he said. It also includes, "gloves for you know obviously cleaning up, some extra sleeves so you can reuse this, throw that away and reuse it again, some instructions and some extra bags," toilet paper and hand sanitizer. The solution becoming more common, in 2015 San Diego Unified School District added 6,000 lock-down lavatories to their campuses."I do know that other school districts are having outside vendors donate or they're buying resources and things like that so I feel like we're well ahead of the curve," LaMaster said. The lavatories were places throughout campus midway through the 2018-2019 school year, ready for students in the future, while all hope the need never arises.LaMaster said in his seven years as a principal he's only experience one lock-down scenario. 2311
