SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A water main break flooded streets and cars in North Park Sunday morning. According to authorities, the break happened near University and Polk Avenue around 4 a.m. The water flowed down to Florida Drive and Pershing Drive where a driver got stuck in rising water, according to police. Police say the man is a doctor who was heading to work at the nearby Navy Medical Center and didn’t know how deep the water was. Crews on scene were able to get the man out of his car. He was uninjured. Crews were forced to shut down eight different valves to get the flow of water to stop. No homes or businesses were injured. 642

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A stylist in Bankers Hill says a "style-and-dash" customer stiffed him on a hefty bill for hair extensions.Stylist Wesley Horn says the young woman, a repeat customer, came into Plush Salon on Friday to match her hair for extensions. The next day, for several hours, he applied and blended the hair."They looked great. She loved it. She was raving about it," said Horn.Horn says when it came time to pay the cost of more than ,000, she offered to pay through the Venmo app."She said the app wasn't working, and then she offered to pay cash," said Horn.She told Horn she had to go to the car to get the cash."Fifteen minutes go by. I text her and ask, 'Are you close?' She says, 'Yes.' Forty minutes go by, and nothing. I call her, and I'm blocked from her cellphone," said Horn.Horn filed a police report, but because she hasn't been named a suspect in a crime, 10News is not identifying the woman. Horn posted details of the incident on the Nextdoor app. The replies included several more accusations of fraud against her, ranging from dine-and-dash incidents to credit card fraud and identity theft."It's insane. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A teenager was struck by a San Diego trolley near Petco Park less than an hour after the end of the Padres opening day game.The incident happened about 5:30 p.m. at 600 Park Blvd., near Market St. The location is several blocks from the ballpark and was busy due to fans leaving the game.The 19-year-old man who was hit was conscious and breathing, officials said. There was no word on the nature of any injuries or the impact on trolley service.Emergency officials did not indicate whether the teenager had attended the Padres game. 565

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A sudden avalanche Friday buried five guests at a Northern California ski resort, including a San Diego native and his wife.Evan Huck and his wife, Kahlynn, were among the five skiers and boarders rescued after an avalanche buried a portion of Squaw Valley Ski Resort near Lake Tahoe. Huck grew up on Coronado, his parents told 10News, and had recently married Kahlynn.The pair escaped unscathed, though hectic moments caught on video after the incident show the drastic effort to make sure things didn't end worse.10News?live?weather conditionsKahlynn and others were captured afterward frantically digging Huck out of the mountain of snow, whose beard was the only part of him peeking through.  While Huck was reportedly knocked unconscious, he was able to snowboard down the mountain on his own afterward. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — An autopsy report for a San Diego State student who died after falling from his bed after a night of partying revealed elevated alcohol levels.The report from the county Medical Examiner found that Dylan Hernandez, 19, died of blunt force injuries of head and ruled his death an accident. At the time of the autopsy, a toxicology report said elevated alcohol levels of 0.06 percent and cannabinoids were found in his system. However, earlier reports from campus police said he had a 0.23 percent blood-alcohol level the morning he fell.Hernandez fell from his bunk bed in the early morning hours of Nov. 7, 2019, after a fraternity party that night. The family said they believed campus police were not pursuing certain angles, including a possible cover-up."The Hernandez family is concerned because witnesses they provided to SDSU and UPD still have not been questioned," George Kindley, the Hernandez family's lawyer, said.Hernandez's family claims SDSU Police never sought out warrants for Snapchat videos or phone records from members of Phi Gamma Delta fraternity, the fraternity Hernandez was pledging to join. They said police were aware that some fraternity brothers may have instructed others to delete videos and messages that were incriminating.University police said they are aware of the autopsy results released Thursday and "will be evaluating the findings as part of the ongoing investigation." 1916
