The one thing the fire couldn’t take away: spirit. Children’s spirits remain high, lifting the adults around them. The Spirit of Liberty Foundation gave them a gift this Christmas they’ll never forget, handing out stuffed animal, sweatshirts and T-shirts from the San Diego Zoo. “I’m really glad they’re donating this stuff, it’s really awesome,” said Jack, a student at the school. PARADISE HILLS (CNS) - A 28-year-old man and his 27-year-old passenger were injured today after the 2014 Harley Davidson motorcycle they were riding crashed into a stationary vehicle in the Paradise Hills neighborhood of San Diego.The collision happened at 9:30 p.m. Saturday in the 6400 block of Potomac Street, according to Officer Robert Heims of the San Diego Police Department.``The driver lost control of his motorcycle and slid into a parked vehicle,'' Heims said. ``The driver sustained broken knees along with several other injuries.''The passenger suffered a dislocated right hip. Both were transported to a local hospital.A San Diego Police Traffic Division investigation determined the crash occurred, at least in part, because of substance intoxication. 774

Police said a two-year old boy died after ingesting medication at his grandmother’s house in Henrico County, Virginia Friday afternoon, according to WTVR-TV.Lt. Richard Brown with Henrico Police said the two-year-old swallowed up to 12 adult-dosage pills before he was transported to VCU Medical Center where he died.Officials said his body has been transported to the medical examiner’s office to determine his exact cause of death.When reporters arrived at the home Saturday, social services workers were inside investigating.The family’s spokesperson, Ricky Johnson, said he could not provide additional information since Kejon Edwards’ death is still under investigation.“We suffered a loss and we are just asking that you pray for this family and pray for this community,” said Johnson with the Ricky Johnson and Friends Foundation. “The family is asking for privacy right now, while we try to figure this out. She even went as far as suggesting using a mask that covers the nose and mouth.Tam says you can also reduce your risk by monitoring for COVID-19 symptoms and not having sex if someone is experiencing those symptoms.Tam also suggests limiting alcohol and drug use, so you and your partner are able to make safe decisions.Additionally, you should be aware if you or your partner may be at higher risk for more severe outcomes of COVID-19. That includes people with underlying medical conditions, those with compromised immune systems, and people living with obesity.“Current evidence indicates there is a very low likelihood of contracting the novel coronavirus through semen or vaginal fluids,” said Tam. “However, even if the people involved do not have symptoms, sexual activity with new partners does increase your risk of getting or passing COVID-19 through close contact, like kissing.
