SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — San Diego health officials are worried about a recent uptick in out-of-towners testing positive for coronavirus locally ahead of the holiday weekend.In San Diego, health officials have seen increases in positive COVID-19 cases diagnosed locally in people who live in nearby counties or states. Throughout the pandemic, there have been 16 Arizona residents have tested positive while in the region, seven of those were in the last week. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego County Crime Stoppers and police investigators announced Tuesday a reward to find a woman suspected of identity theft and using fraudulent credit cards at Walmart. The woman opened two separate credit card accounts at the Murphy Canyon and Grossmont Center stores Dec. 18, according to the San Diego Police Department’s Economic Crimes Unit. The woman bought ,500 worth of items at each store. Police said the woman also tried to open fraudulent credit accounts at a Marshalls and Target store in Kearny Mesa, but was unsuccessful. The woman later went to a Chase Bank and took nearly ,000 in cash from the bank account of a victim whose identity she stole, police said. The victim’s credit monitoring service notified her of the fraudulent activity. Investigators believe the suspect is using a fake identification card using the victim’s basic information. The victim doesn’t know how the woman obtained her personal data, police said. The suspect, who is white and in her mid 20s to late 30s, was wearing a dark-colored wig while at the bank. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Residents of several inland North County communities tell 10News they are fed up with the numerous delays which have led to a series of road improvement projects to take more than two years to complete.The most impactful is the widening of Rancho Bernardo Road between I-15 and Bernardo Center Drive.Work on that stretch began in February of 2017 and was projected to take six to seven months. It's almost a year past that point. The latest round of wet weather is expected to be the heaviest in San Diego County, bringing between half an inch to an inch of rain to the coast. According to the National Weather Service, parts of San Diego County could see heavy snow. The NWS says elevations will be between 5,000 to 5,500 feet for the region's mountains.
