BEIJING, Sept. 24 (Xinhua) -- A total of 97.9 million tourists were received across China during the three-day Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, which started Saturday, said the Ministry of Culture and Tourism (MCT) Monday.

The leaders issued a joint communique and ratified several resolutions and cooperation documents involving trade, technology and environmental protection.

"As we are still in the early days of operations, there may still be teething issues which may cause some inconvenience to passengers. We will continue to listen to passengers' views and seek continuous improvements. Our aim is to provide passengers with high quality high-speed rail service," said Lau.

"We advocate that countries should enhance exchanges, cooperation, understanding and mutual trust, and avoid suspicion, prejudice and misunderstanding in international affairs," he said.

Shen is vice chair of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC) and president of the All-China Women's Federation.
