SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Southern California home sales are seeing a significant drop, according to a new report by CoreLogic. In San Diego County, home sales are down more than eight percent year-over-year. Despite a dip in sales, home prices rose 2.6 percent from February of 2018 to February of 2019.The median home price in February was 9,000, CoreLogic reports. The report points out that total SoCal home sales in February were the lowest since February of 2008, when only 10,777 homes were sold. According to the report, sales have fallen on a year-over-year basis for the last seven consecutive months. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Saturday, San Diego's crown jewel, Balboa Park, turns 150 years old.San Diego will celebrate the founding of the iconic park on May 26 during the second annual Fiesta Botanica. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego Police saved a driver whose SUV got stuck in the path of an oncoming train in Little Italy Tuesday morning.The vehicle was stuck on the track at 1:30 a.m. near West Grape Street and California Street, approximately 100 yards south of the railroad crossing.Police were on the scene and helped the driver out of the SUV, according to San Diego County Sheriff’s deputies who assisted in the investigation.A southbound Amtrak train was traveling 35 miles an hour when the train operator saw the vehicle on the track.The operator applied the emergency brake but was unable to stop in time, and collided with the vehicle.The driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI. Neither the driver nor any passenger on the train was hurt. 771
