LONDON, Oct. 21 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Xi Jinping said here Wednesday that his country's economy will keep operating within "a proper range" and there will be no "hard landing."

Despite the leading position and advantages maintained by the U.S., the gap between the world’s two largest economies has been narrowed, as China gains influence in the global arena.

When asked about China-U.S. relations, Xi stressed that today's world has entered into an era of economic globalization where countries are interdependent upon each other.

"As political mutual trust and economic partnership develop, I believe more breakthroughs will be seen in cooperation in the nuclear power industry of the two countries," he said.

In his message, Xi said that for 65 years, China and Finland have enjoyed a true friendship with mutual support and mutual trust as well as a partnership featuring equality, mutual benefits and win-win cooperation.
