POWAY, Calif. (KGTV) -- A Poway family is desperately searching for their beloved cat who was last seen getting into a car with an Amazon delivery driver Monday night. Rachael Dominguez shared her doorbell camera footage with 10News which shows Cofi the Siamese cat interacting with the driver on the front porch. Another angle shows the same driver and the cat getting into a car and driving away.Dominguez contacted the Poway Sheriff's Department and Amazon. The company told her the driver says he thought Cofi was a stray and was trying to help but the cat jumped out of his car at a later stop.The driver says Cofi jumped out around Cree Court in Poway. Dominguez is asking people living in that area to keep an eye out for the cat. 746

POWAY, Calif (KGTV) -- The Poway Unified School District doesn’t plan to return to in-person learning following winter break, officials announced Tuesday.According to a letter sent to families, the district plans to suspend in-person learning for all students and schools for two weeks, from January 4 through the 15.During that time, district officials say all students will learn from home. “On-campus learning will resume Tuesday, January 19, 2021,” the district said.The district still awaits approval from the board at a Thursday meeting where the move could be solidified.Read the full letter to families below: 625

Postmaster General Louis DeJoy said this week now is the time for Congress to act in order to enact legislative and regulatory reforms as the agency says it is strapped for cash.DeJoy’s statement comes as Senator Joe Manchin, D-WV, said in a letter to Dejoy that USPS locations in his state are slated to close or reducing hours. Manchin said he is concerned that the postal service will be less accessible to his constituents.“As a public service, USPS is legally required to deliver mail, to all postal addresses in all regions, at a flat rate, no matter how far it may have to travel,” Manchin said in a letter to DeJoy. “The Service’s affordability and continued accessibility are essential for rural communities, especially those with high rates of poverty. In many areas where reliable broadband is not an option, the Postal Service is their only link to medicine, social security checks, and family members.In recent years, the USPS has seen a decrease in mail volume, going from 170.9 billion pieces of mail in 2010 to 142.6 billion in 2019. Meanwhile, USPS continues to operate routes six days a week.To combat the decrease in revenue, DeJoy wants to implement reforms and cut overtime from the budget.
