The city of Philadelphia has settled with two black men arrested at a Starbucks in the city. Rashon Nelson and Donte Robinson settled for apiece while the city committed 0,000 for young entrepreneurs, according to the New York Daily News. The two men were arrested after sitting down at the Starbucks without ordering anything. Starbucks also reached a settlement with the two men, the company said in a statement. The FBI said on Tuesday that cybercriminals and foreign actors are attempting to influence the upcoming election.According to the FBI, “Foreign actors and cybercriminals could create new websites, change existing websites, and create or share corresponding social media content to spread false information in an attempt to discredit the electoral process and undermine confidence in U.S. democratic institutions.”Beyond attempts to influence the vote, the FBI says these actors are attempting to sow distrust in the electoral system. The FBI in particular warns that cybercriminals could take advantage of the likelihood several states will need additional time to count ballots due to increased mail-in voting and social distancing protocols. While a delay in results does not indicate any wrongdoing, the FBI warns that foreign actors could attempt to spread misinformation to cause distrust in the system while votes are being tallied.Last month, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence released a statement outlining efforts by Iran, China and Russia to attempt to undermine this year’s presidential election.“Ahead of the 2020 U.S. elections, foreign states will continue to use covert and overt influence measures in their attempts to sway U.S. voters’ preferences and perspectives, shift U.S. policies, increase discord in the United States, and undermine the American people’s confidence in our democratic process,” William Evanina, director of the United States National Counterintelligence and Security Center, said. "They may also seek to compromise our election infrastructure for a range of possible purposes, such as interfering with the voting process, stealing sensitive data, or calling into question the validity of the election results. However, it would be difficult for our adversaries to interfere with or manipulate voting results at scale.”As part of Evanina’s assessment, he said that China and Iran were attempting to seek a favorable outcome for Biden, while Russia was working to ensure a favorable outcome for Trump.“As Americans, we are all in this together; our elections should be our own,” Evanina previously said. “Foreign efforts to influence or interfere with our elections are a direct threat to the fabric of our democracy. The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is cracking down on glasses and contact prescribers who may try to stop you from shopping around.The FTC sent warning letters to almost 30 different eyeglass prescribers. The letters say the prescriber must give a copy of the prescription to the patient without them asking.They can't charge a special fee for doing that and they can’t force you to buy from them just because they did the examination.“However, there were a lot of prescribers that just weren't doing that,” said Linda Sherry, Director of National Priorities at Consumer Action. “If you asked for it, in most cases, you would get it. They also are required to post notices in the offices to say that you have a right to your prescription and a lot of prescribers we're not posting those notices.”Consumer Action is educating people on their eyeglass and contacts prescription rights. Sherry says prescriptions allow you to go online and to other eyeglass and contact sellers to shop for the best deal.Another thing she says to ask for, especially if you're shopping online, is pupil distance. It may not be on the prescription.“I had an experience where I asked for the pupil distance and was told that would be to put the pupil distance on, so I was like, ‘I've been coming here for three years and you've obviously measured my pupil distance, because I bought glasses from you. So, all you have to do is open your records and tell me my pupil distance.’ And they did do it, but there was that moment there when she said for the pupil distance measurement when I thought, ‘oh, something's very, very wrong here.’”Prescribers shouldn't be charging for that info either.If you're having trouble getting prescription information from your provider, you can contact the FTC. The Dan Ryan Expressway roars with cars that feature the power of hundreds of horses. But on Monday, a man and a lone horse disrupted traffic at rush hour.News helicopters followed a man going down the busy freeway late Monday afternoon riding the horse. Police followed the man off the freeway on the city’s south side.Footage then showed the man jumping off the horse and being detained. The Illinois State Police confirmed that Adam Hollingsworth was arrested on three criminal counts. The counts were for reckless conduct, disobeying a police officer and criminal trespass of state-supported property.He was accompanied by several others on motorcycles.Another man, Darron Luster, was arrested for obstruction and resisting arrest. Police accused Luster of trying to gain control of the horse, and disobeyed officers who asked him released the horse.The Illinois State Police confirmed the horse sustained several injuries, including bleeding from the left hoof, the right hoof was injured, and the right side of the horse’s body had sores from the saddle. The horse was taken to Animal Care and Control.The Illinois State Police said that it had met with Hollingsworth on Sept. 9 as he planned on staging a protest on the interstate. The police told Hollingsworth that “he would not be allowed on the Dan Ryan Expressway because it is dangerous and illegal for pedestrians to access the expressway in that manner.”According to CNN, Hollingsworth — also known as the "Dreadhead Cowboy" — was attempting to raise awareness for the U.S. Census so his community could receive more funding for children's services. 1622
