SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A man was injured in a machete attack in San Diego’s Talmadge neighborhood Thursday night, San Diego Police say. According to police, the incident happened just before 7 p.m. on the 4800 block of of El Cajon Boulevard.Police say the suspect walked up to the victim, who was sitting in his car, and attacked him with the machete. But the suspect threw the weapon at the victim. The blade hit the victim in the back as the suspect then ran away.The victim received a a 3-inch cut on the ride side of his back, and was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A woman was arrested Wednesday night after police say she hit her neighbor with her SUV in Chollas View.According to police, the incident happened on the 200 block of 47th Street near the 47th Street Trolley Station around 2 p.m. Police say the victim, only described as a 50-year-old white man, saw a woman, later identified as Tantrina Spencer-Simmons, 24, beating her 8-year-old sister with a belt. According to police, the victim confronted Simmons about the beating when she put her younger sister into a white Mitsubishi SUV. While the victim stood in the parking lot calling police, authorities say Simmons stepped on the gas and “intentionally ran over the male victim.”Simmons then fled the scene. Police say the victim sustained severe and life-threatening injuries. Police were able to locate and arrest Simmons on the 4500 block of Market Street around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday. 915

 The New York City Police Department released surveillance video Thursday of a man, later fatally shot by police, pointing a silver object at residents as if he were brandishing a gun.The video also shows 911 call transcripts of neighborhood residents who reported the man to police.On Wednesday, police shot and killed the black man, identified as Saheed Vassell, in Brooklyn after he pointed what officers believed was a gun at them, authorities said.After the shooting, officers discovered that the object was "a pipe with some sort of knob on it," Chief of Department Terence A.
