BEIJING, March 12 (Xinhua) -- China will strive to become a leader in global shipbuilding by 2015, the country's industrial authority said Monday.
Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao said in a government work report to the country's top legislature on Monday that China will improve the mechanism for setting the RMB exchange rate, make the two-way floating exchange rate regime more flexible, and keep the RMB exchange rate basically stable at an appropriate and balanced level.
The amount of governmental microblog accounts had increased more than seven fold from the beginning of the year, according to the report conducted by the Chinese Academy of Governance (CAG).
In response to economic turmoil, Wen said the government this year will further support the real economy, small-and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in particular, and push forward reform of monopoly industries.
The government will expand fiscal support for small and micro-sized companies to 14.17 billion yuan (2.3 billion U.S. dollars) in 2012, up from the previous arrangement of 12.87 billion yuan. Meanwhile, firms in the country's less-developed western regions will be given priority in the distribution of the funds.
