Andrew Cuomo announced new guidance for bars and restaurants statewide Thursday.The governor says bars and restaurants in the state are now only allowed to serve alcohol to those who order food. He also announced that all service at bar tops must only be for those seated six feet apart or separated by physical barriers.Cuomo cited a lack of compliance on social distancing and the wearing of face coverings in bars and restaurants across the state."As we continue our science-based phased reopening, the number of hospitalizations and our rate of positive tests remain steady and low," Cuomo said. "But we need to remember our success fighting this virus is a function of our own actions. Mask wearing, social distancing and hand washing — basic as they may seem — are critical to controlling the spread of this virus. Especially now that we are seeing spikes in cases throughout the country, this is not the time to let up — especially on compliance enforcement. NEW YORK — The newspaper USA Today says that presidential aide Peter Navarro's column about Dr. Anthony Fauci that it solicited and published did not meet its fact-checking standards. Navarro's column, saying that the nation's top infectious disease expert had been wrong about several key pandemic response policies, ran in Wednesday's newspaper and online a night earlier. USA Today also ran a fact-checking column debunking some of Navarro's claims. The episode is reminiscent of The New York Times disavowing a column by U.S. Sen. Tom Cotton that advocated to sending federal troops to break up protests across the country. The Times' editorial editor, James Bennett, resigned from the paper after running the column. NORTON, Kan. – A Kansas nursing home has been hit hard by COVID-19.All 62 of the residents at the Andbe Home in Norton have tested positive for the novel coronavirus and 10 of the patients have died as a result of the disease, according to the Norton County Health Department.In a press release, the health department said Monday that one of the surviving residents has been hospitalized and the remaining 51 are being cared for at the privately-owned nursing home facility.Additionally, the department says some staff members have tested positive for the virus, though a specific number was not provided.

New Zealand’s government has extended a lockdown of its largest city Auckland for another 12 days as it tries to stamp out its first domestic coronavirus outbreak in more than three months.
