SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Police are investigating a possible road rage incident that ended with a car crashing into a tree in Scripps Ranch.According to San Diego police, the crash happened just after 11 p.m. Monday on Scripps Ranch Boulevard and Spring Canyon Road.Police said a couple in a silver SUV called 911 and claimed a black car intentionally backed into them, causing the black car to lose control before crashing into a tree.However, the driver of the black car said he accidentally cut off the SUV, so they then hit him from the back and forced him to crash.The incident remains under investigation, as police try to sort out the full details of the episode.No injuries were reported. 699

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - New advertisements against Measure B riled up supporters, who spoke out against the massive development Friday.The commercial states, "Measure B the Newland Sierra project, is a luxury development," something supporters vehemently deny."What I think is disingenuous is making people feel fearful of what can happen in this development," supporter Melinda Vasquez said.Friday, dozens gathered in Kearny Mesa to advocate for Newland Sierra's development project. She is a first generation American (her parents moved from Mexico) and a teacher. School Choice gives students the chance to enroll in magnet programs or schools outside their neighborhood boundaries. Parents are responsible for transportation if their children attend a school through School Choice outside their community. Parents can apply for the program online or in person. In addition to specialty programs available to students through the choice application window, San Diego Unified also has free and fee-based, full and half-day enrollment seats available in the district’s Pre-K and Headstart programs. SDUSD’s Parent Welcome Center offers help for families with preschool through high school enrollment options. It provides parents with free one-on-one enrollment assistance year-round and is located at San Diego Unified District headquarters. The center is open to families by appointment or on a walk-in basis. The enrollment window opened October 7 and closes November 20. Each year, more than 10,000 area students apply for the choice program to attend one of the more than 180 schools in San Diego Unified. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Nine people were taken into custody Friday after border officials say a panga-style boat was stopped off the coast of Carlsbad.The boat was spotted at about 10:20 p.m. on Thursday by San Diego Air and Marine Branch crews. Officials say the crews used blue lights, sirens, and a spotlight to try and stop the boat, but it would not stop.Crews then used disabling rounds on the boat's engine, bringing the vessel to a stop about 12 miles west of Carlsbad.The nine people on the boat were taken into custody onshore by Border Patrol agents. 564
