Sales of CBD products continue to be on the rise, and many of those CBD products claim to have zero THC. However, that’s not always the case. Tyler D’Spain, with Ellipse Analytics, analyzed some CBD products and found trace elements of THC, the substance in cannabis that gets users high.“Twenty-one percent of the products we tested that said were THC free, we were still able to detect THC in those products,” D’Spain says.He says this is a big problem, especially for consumers. “I ended up testing positive for THC and being placed on administrative leave,” says consumer Tammy Allen. Prosecutors plan to seek a sentence of four to ten months' jail time for actress Felicity Huffman for her role in the college admissions scandal, a law enforcement source with knowledge of the investigation said.Huffman was among 13 parents who pleaded guilty last week to a charge of conspiracy to commit fraud. A total of 33 parents, including the "Desperate Housewives" star, have been accused of using their wealth to cheat on standardized tests for their children, and bribe college administrators and coaches who had clout when it came to admissions.Prosecutors' decision to seek four to ten months had nothing to do with Huffman's public apology, the source said.Ultimately, a federal judge will have the final say on Huffman's sentence.Huffman is due back in court on May 21 for a sentencing hearing. What is she accused of?Huffman has agreed to plead guilty to paying ,000 to a fake charity associated with Rick Singer to facilitate cheating for her daughter on the SATs. Singer ran a college prep business, and helped wealthy parents cheat on standardized tests for their children. He also bribed college coaches to designate children falsely as recruited athletes, smoothing their path to admission, a criminal complaint says.Huffman and Singer exchanged emails about how to get extra time on her daughter's SAT, the complaint says. They arranged for Huffman's daughter to take the SAT at a location controlled by an administrator bribed by Singer, the complaint says. The daughter got a score of 1420 out of a maximum 1600 on the SAT, about 400 points over her Preliminary SAT exam a year earlier. 1623

SARASOTA, Fla. — A Sarasota, Florida, police officer is at the center of an internal investigation after a video posted on social media showed him kneeling on a suspect's neck. The video — which the Sarasota Police Department said was tagged by other users on social media after the incident happened on May 18 — happened after police said they were called to the area about a domestic issue. It shows two Sarasota police officers working to place 27-year-old Patrick Carroll in custody while a third officer watches nearby. One of the police officers had his knee on the neck Carroll."As I'm yelling and asking why I'm being detained, he's putting his knee on my neck," Carroll said.Carroll says he suffers from asthma and scoliosis and was having trouble breathing."While he's saying I'm resisting, I'm just moving around so I can have circulation in my body and my throat," Carroll said.Carroll was arrested on charges related to battery and domestic violence. The cell phone video of the arrest was just posted to social media on Monday by Carroll's mother, Terria."I just want the Sarasota Police Department to know that I'm upset and I'm not going to stop until somebody has a reasonable explanation as to why he was detained in that manner," Terria Carroll said.Sarasota police said there was no complaint to them about this incident when it happened in May, and were unaware of what had happened until they were tagged in the video on Facebook on Monday."Utilizing your knee on someone's neck is not something that we train. It's not something that we authorize and it's not something that we stand behind," said Patrick Robinson, the deputy chief of the Sarasota Police. The police department said as soon as the police chief saw the video, the officer was placed on administrative leave, and an investigation was opened. The sheriff's office also released an aerial video that they captured of the entire arrest.</p>"We are bound and determined to do everything we can to rebuild the relationships as to what's going on in our community," Robinson said.Carroll's family says they don't want people to respond to the video with violence, but with peaceful protest to advocate for change."If we're yelling, they can't hear us, but if we meet them at belt level, we've got some loops, and we can connect," Terria Carroll said.Sarasota Police Department's investigation against its officer comes just days after a Minneapolis police officer was charged with third-degree murder after George Floyd, an unarmed black man, died while in police custody.Like the Sarasota incident, the Minneapolis police officer, later identified as Derek Chauvin, was also seen kneeling on the suspect's neck.Floyd's death sparked protests and unrest nationwide, including the Tampa Bay area. The controversy in Minneapolis also opened up conversations about race and police brutality. This story was originally published by 2924

Serena Williams moved into a 10th US Open final and picked up a record-equaling 101st win in New York by routing Elina Svitolina 6-3, 6-1 but the number she might still be preoccupied with is 24.Collecting a 24th major Saturday would tie the American with Margaret Court for tennis' all-time lead, and the 37-year-old is hoping to get over the finish line after losing three grand slam finals in a row -- which had never previously happened in her storied three-decade career. The latest setback occurred at Wimbledon in July, when Williams was stopped thanks largely to the brilliance of Simona Halep. The Romanian committed a miniscule three unforced errors in the final.Svitolina is a similar type of counterpuncher, but the fifth seed from Ukraine paid the price for not capitalizing on her early opportunities under the lights of Arthur Ashe stadium. The Wimbledon semifinalist earned three break points straight away, didn't convert, then was broken from 40-0 to trail 2-0. Those first two games took an extended 15 minutes. There was more woe for Svitolina and her player box -- which included her boyfriend, Gael Monfils, who lost in the quarterfinals Wednesday -- when she couldn't break from 40-0 on the Williams serve at 3-1.That really was her last chance to gain a foothold. Not long after, Williams booked a spot in the final almost exactly 20 years after appearing in her first grand slam final at the 1999 US Open. That gap is a record -- another record she owns.Svitolina won the last time they faced off, though Williams was suffering from a shoulder injury back then at the Rio Olympics in 2016.Williams tied Chris Evert for top spot in US Open victories. She has spent an economical one hour, 54 minutes combined on court in her last two matches, crushing China's Wang Qiang in the quarterfinals and surrendering only one set en route to the final.Williams moving greatPutting a knee injury behind her, Williams moved supremely well at the Rogers Cup in Toronto in August and looks to have overcome the back injury that forced her to retire in that final against Bianca Andreescu as well as the rolled ankle she sustained this week against Petra Martic. She patrolled the court sublimely to bring up a break point at 1-1 in the second and even, rarely for her, served and volleyed.Williams could face the 19-year-old Canadian upstart again if Andreescu tops Belinda Bencic in the second semifinal. Andreescu or Bencic will be appearing in a first grand slam final. It's all going so well for Williams but the question indeed is whether she can produce in the final and win a major for the first time since becoming a mom to daughter Olympia almost exactly two years ago.Williams was once unbeatable in grand slam finals, winning eight straight from 2012-2015.But twelve months ago, she controversially fell to Naomi Osaka at Flushing Meadows.Though they lack in experience, the crafty pair of Bencic or Andreescu shouldn't be taken lightly. No one has tallied more top-five or top-10 wins this season than former teen prodigy Bencic -- who beat Williams in 2015 and Osaka this week -- while 15th-seed Andreescu has won 12 straight matches, and 22 if you discount a retirement loss to Anett Kontaveit in Miami in March. 3244

Reality TV stars Todd and Julie Chrisley were indicted on Tuesday by a grand jury on tax evasion charges by the Northern District of Georgia. The 12-count indictment, obtained by CNN, also alleges the Chrisleys committed bank fraud and wire fraud conspiracy, among other offenses. The married couple are stars of the USA Network reality series "Chrisley Knows Best," which follows their family's over-the-top lifestyle and activities. Before the indictment was issued, Todd Chrisley took to Instagram to deny the claims, implying the charges are based on evidence presented to investigators by a disgruntled former employee. He alleged this employee, whom he did not name, was stealing from the family, created false documents, forged their signatures and bugged their home. Chrisley said it's the employee's second attempt to get the family charged and called it an act of retaliation."I'm telling you all this now because we have nothing to hide and have done nothing to be ashamed of," he wrote on Instagram. "Not only do we know we've done nothing wrong, but we've got a ton of hard evidence and a bunch of corroborating witnesses that proves it.""Chrisley Knows Best" has aired on the USA Network since 2014 for a total of seven seasons.A spin-off, "Growing up Chrisley," which focuses on children Chase and Savannah, premiered in April. 1350
