LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) — An autopsy report revealed more details about the shooting death of Breonna Taylor.Taylor, 26, was shot multiple times by Louisville Metro Police Department narcotics officers serving a warrant just after midnight on March 13.Her autopsy was performed on March 14 at 8 a.m. at the Bingham Building. The autopsy showed Taylor was shot in the chest, which caused hemorrhages along the wound path; the right upper abdomen, in her left forearm, in her left thigh and in her right foot. An orange and gray metal projectile was also recovered from her right heel.Following the announcement of the grand jury decision in the case on Sept. 23, Attorney General Daniel Cameron said only one of those shots was fatal.Former LMPD Det. Brett Hankison was charged for shooting 10 rounds from outside Taylor’s apartment; some of those shots ended up in adjacent units, which was why he was indicted. Two other officers, Myles Cosgrove and Jon Mattingly, were found to be justified in their use of force, according to the grand jury.Cameron said evidence showed Mattingly fired six times, and Cosgrove fired 16 shots, and added that both were justified in returning fire after being fired upon. The attorney general also said the FBI lab confirmed the fatal shot came from Cosgrove but the KSP lab said it was not clear who fired the shot.Taylor tested negative for alcohol and drug use postmortem. 1414

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – A man was arrested Sunday after allegedly saying on Facebook live that he would shoot Louisville police officers for ,000.The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Kentucky said Sunday that 29-year-old Cortez Lamont Edwards was in possession of an AR variant pistol including a non-extendible support brace and extended magazine when he went live last Wednesday. In the video, Edwards says he’s requesting to be paid ,000 to shoot the officer on scene for a disturbance in the street in front of his home, according to a criminal complaint.Authorities say an investigation revealed that the Louisville man is a convicted felon, having been convicted of complicity to trafficking in a controlled substance, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.Edwards was taken into custody Sunday after a team of law enforcement agencies executed a search warrant at his home. He’s being charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm. If convicted at trial, the maximum sentence for unlawfully possessing a firearm is 10 years in prison, a 0,000 fine, and three years of supervised release.Louisville has become a site of unrest this year, with people calling for justice in the Breonna Taylor case. The 26-year-old EMT was fatally shot by Louisville police in her apartment in March."Louisville needs healing and safety for its citizens, not armed felons seeking bids to shoot police," said U.S. Attorney Russell Coleman. "Federal law enforcement here will continue to respond as one to swiftly mitigate threats to our city." 1576

MASON, Ohio — Kelly Ralston never thought she'd be a family secret. When Ralston started looking for her long-lost father, she discovered a whole family she never knew she had. They didn't know she existed, either. The 46-year-old found her father as well as two brothers and sisters after their DNA matched on Ancestry.com."I was already on Ancestry creating a family tree … so now I just have a few more branches," Ralston said.DNA testing services such as those offered by Ancestry and 23andMe have spiked in popularity over the last few years. According to CNN, AncestryDNA sold over 1.5 million kits just on Black Friday and Cyber Monday in 2017. The kits make it easier than ever for people to find information about relatives.Ralston barely knew her father; he was serving in Vietnam when her parents got divorced. He never told his next wife, their sons or his sister that he was married before and had a daughter."A lot of people didn't talk about what they did back then, especially if they went to war," Ralston said. "I was just surprised, since I actually met my father when I was 23, that he hadn't told anybody after I met him that I existed."Now, Ralston and her newfound family have embraced one another."I think we are all OK with it," Ralston said. "I think a lot of people might not be, but we're fine with it."Genealogist Kathy Reed warned Ralston's outcome isn't always the case. DNA results can "really shake up a family" if they reveal information family members aren't prepared to know, she said."Where it's been a real success story, everybody is thrilled to death to find this other relative, a father, a child, and you're getting to see the flip side where somebody is found and make it clear they don't want to be contacted," Reed said. 1781

LUBBOCK, TX — A 9-year-old girl from Texas who has been missing since 2016 was found safely on Monday after the story of her disappearance was featured on the television show "Live PD".Mariah Martinez was last seen on October 18, 2016, when she was taken from her home in Lubbock, Texas. On Friday night, the A&E show had a segment that chronicled the events that led to Mariah's disappearance. According to Fox News, Mariah's mother, Amanda, was close to losing custody of her three children and decided to take them and flee instead of going to court.A court order was issued after Amanda’s boyfriend allegedly punched Mariah's 5-year-old brother in the nose and threatened to kill the family by driving their car into a pond. The Live PD segment explained that in January 2017, police were tipped off about the family's whereabouts. Police found Amanda and two of the children, but not Mariah. The mother was arrested on felony charges, but Mariah's whereabouts remained a mystery. The television program ended by asking viewers to contact the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children if they knew anything.NCMEC posted to Facebook on Tuesday that Mariah was found in New Mexico following a viewer’s tip.The Lubbock Police Department also released a statement saying they were thankful to NCMEC for helping find Mariah.  1398
