WESLEY CHAPEL, Fla. — Three women have been arrested after they led police on a pursuit through Pasco County and it all started after someone reported seeing the women naked at a Pasco County rest area off of I-75 on Wednesday. On Wednesday, April 10, 2019, at approximately 11:15 a.m., an FHP trooper was dispatched to the suspicious persons call at the northbound I-75 rest area just south of State Road 54. When the trooper arrived on scene, she found three black females completely naked. The women told the trooper they had showered and were "air drying."Troopers say the girls told them they had been at a relatives house in Lutz and got into an arugment. They had no where else to shower, so they bought soap and water and bathed themselves on the grass outside the rest stop building. The girls got dressed before speaking to troopers.As the trooper was attempting to gather their information, the three women ran and got into a white 2009 Nissan Sentra and traveled southbound into the northbound rest area entrance before turning back around and heading northbound before traveling north on I-75 toward State Road 52. Cabraro teamed up with the Mathematical Science Research Institute in Berkeley, California to survey roughly 2,500 people, half men and half women, about wearing a face covering out in public."We did find men are less likely than women to state that they wear a face covering anytime they leave the home, when engaged in essential activities and when around people outside the house," said Cabraro.When asked their reasons for not wearing a mask, a few answers stood out.The survey showed clear gender differences in the answers, with more men stating that wearing a face covering was shameful or a sign of weakness. "Wearing a face covering is a sign of weakness, wearing a face covering is shameful and the stigma associated with wearing a face covering is preventing me from wearing one," said Cabraro.The survey also found men are more likely than women to think they will not be affected by the coronavirus. Is this all blown out of proportion? Unvaccinated people under age 18 are banned from public places in Rockland County, New York, as of midnight Wednesday, according to John Lyon, director of strategic communications for County Executive Ed Day.Day will announce the order Tuesday.The declaration is an effort to contain an outbreak of measles that began in October; 153 cases have been confirmed in the county."We're not punishing the people who are doing the right thing already and following the rules. We just want to encourage everyone to do the right thing so we can stop this outbreak," Lyon said. The step is "extremely unusual. [We] don't believe it's been done anywhere in the country before."Measles is a highly contagious virus that is prevented with the measles, mumps and rubella vaccine.
