SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A third Marine has reportedly tested positive for coronavirus at MCAS Miramar.The Marine is currently quarantined at his home, MCAS Miramar officials told 10News.Navy medical staff is investigating anyone the Marine may have had contact with, as well.No further information on the base's third case was immediately released.Last week, a Marine tested positive for coronavirus after returning from leave in Washington state where he was visiting family. Then Saturday, the base confirmed a second Marine tested positive for the virus.Those two Marines are currently in isolation and quarantined in an empty barracks that was designated to treat potential cases of COVID-19.MCAS Miramar is currently a quarantine site for individuals evacuated from Wuhan last month and passengers aboard the Grand Princess cruise ship. Those quarantined passengers are being treated by Centers for Disease Control and Prevention staff.The two Marines who had contracted coronavirus last week did not have any contact with cruise passengers, according to the base. MCAS Miramar officials say the base has implemented increased hygiene practices in accordance with the CDC to treat personnel. 1199

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A suspect was arrested Sunday morning after reportedly stealing someone’s car and stabbing the owner who tried to prevent the theft.According to police, the incident happened around 9:10 a.m. on the 2800 block of Jarvis Street in Point Loma.When the owner of the car tried to stop the man, the suspect stabbed the victim. Police say the suspect then drove to the Fashion Valley Comprehensive Treatment Center to get help.RELATED: Car slams into house in San Diego's Skyline neighborhoodA short time later, the suspect was picked up by two other people in a red Ford SUV before police stopped the three at Ocean Beach and took them all into custody.The suspect was eventually arrested and the other two people in the SUV released. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A San Diego Police Sergeant accused of soliciting sex with a minor was found dead after failing to show up for court Monday. Joseph Ruvido, 49, was absent from his arraignment Monday, forcing a judge to issue a bench warrant and revoking his bail of 0,000. According to police, Ruvido was found dead around 4:25 p.m. as officers conducted a welfare check at his Carmel Valley home. Ruvido was charged Monday with two felony counts of arranging a meeting with a minor with sexual intent and one count of attempted lewd acts on a minor between the ages of 14 and 15.The prosecutor won't provide details citing the ongoing investigation, but says the acts were committed July 6th. Police arrested Ruvido at his home in Carmel Valley on July 26th, two days after getting a Crime Stoppers tip. Before that, Ruvido was a patrol sergeant with the department's Eastern division, according to SDPD Chief David Nisleit. He'd been with the department for 21 years. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — All nine puppies that were found abandoned in a dog food bag at a North County park have been adopted out.The Shar Pei mixes were put up for adoption Thursday at the San Diego Humane Society's Escondido campus. By the end of the day, they had all found new homes. 290
