Which is worse? Aggressive driving, drunk driving or distracted driving? They're all bad, but new information out on Thursday shows when it comes to risky behavior on the road, distracted driving now tops the list. Nearly nine out of 10 drivers believe it's on the rise. But experts say there are things you can do about it.From reaching for something to the increasing danger of technology, it has become easier to become distracted while driving. In a study out Thursday, the AAA Foundation found drivers talking on a cellphone are up to four times more likely to crash than those not using a cellphone. Those who text and drive are eight times more likely.Mark Stolberg, the Vice President of training at Masterdrive, said many of us look at distractions as small interruptions we can stop at any time.“The problem with it is the traffic situation can become threatening very quickly,” said Stolberg. “So even a little distraction is very dangerous.”“So if you have to check something else, if you have to check the mirror, if you have to check your navigation right, check that then get back focused on driving," Stolberg added. "Get right back focused on driving.”Stolberg demonstrated that when a text message is received, drivers have a tendency to take their eyes off the road. In a split second, Stolberg said that drivers could miss a changing traffic light, causing potential accidents. Turning off cellphones while driving is one way drivers can remove the temptation of taking their eyes off of the road.  1585

White House press secretary Sarah Sanders on Tuesday defended President Donald Trump's silence on allegations leveled against him by porn star Stormy Daniels, maintaining that while the President is a "counter-puncher," he doesn't necessarily punch back at every story.Daniels, whose legal name is Stephanie Clifford, has saturated the news in recent days, after Anderson Cooper interviewed her over her alleged affair with Trump on CBS' "60 Minutes." Trump so far declined to respond to her on Twitter or otherwise, a rarity for a President who rarely holds back.Sanders said even though she has previously described Trump as a "counter-puncher," she didn't say he "punches back on every single topic.""If he did he would probably be addressing a lot of the stories that most of you write every single minute of every single day," Sanders told reporters. "He also has a country to run. And he is doing a great job with that. ... Sometimes he chooses to specifically engage and punch back and sometimes he doesn't."Trump's terse Twitter persona has targeted everyone from Rosie O'Donnell and the cast of Hamilton to his political enemies and one-time friends. But the President has been advised that lashing out on the Daniels story will only make it worse, a tact he is also taking with Karen McDougal, a former Playboy model who recently recounted in a CNN interview the details of what she alleges was a lengthy affair with the then-businessman.Trump has denied both women's claims.Daniels, in her interview with 60 Minutes, alleged that shortly after she tried to sell her story about her alleged affair with the now-President, a man approached her in the parking lot of a fitness center."And a guy walked up on me and said to me, 'Leave Trump alone. Forget the story,' " Daniels said. "And then he leaned around and looked at my daughter and said, 'That's a beautiful little girl. It'd be a shame if something happened to her mom.' And then he was gone."Daniels, as part of a hush agreement, was paid 0,000 by Trump's longtime personal lawyer Michael Cohen days before the 2016 election. Daniels said she was risking a million fine for potentially violating her nondisclosure agreement "because it was very important to me to be able to defend myself."Sanders once again denied the allegations leveled by Daniels, but declined to get into the details of the porn star's allegations or the payoff she received."That is a question you would have to ask the President's attorney," Sanders said. "I certainly cannot speak for him. I can only speak on behalf of the White House."Pushed on the matter, Sanders stood her ground and declined to comment."The President has denied the allegations," Sanders said. "Anything beyond that I would refer you to the outside counsel and his attorney." 2823

When it's one hundred degrees in Washington D.C., it's hard to get outside to do anything. But for supporters of the late Congressman John Lewis, the opportunity to pay respects to the civil rights icon is worth the sweat. "We knew before coming out here that the heat index would be 105," Lenora Simpson said. "He never stopped, he never gave up, he was always fighting," Simpson added. "I always tell my grandchildren if it wasn’t for the pioneers we don’t know where we would be," Simpson added. Simpson, like so many men and women lining up outside the U.S. Capitol, never met Lewis. They just know his legacy as a fighter for equality. 27 year-old Joshua Maxey, however, did meet Lewis five years ago during an interview. He stood in line Monday thinking of the advice Lewis gave the man. "[He said] now it’s your time, It’s your generations time to pick up the mantle, obviously those words are still stuck with me today," Maxey said. 949

When it comes to real estate transactions, some cities are seeing record sales and prices. For real estate broker Kim Dozier, business is booming.“The real estate market is on fire if you’re priced right,” she said.Dozier is the broker of the real estate company 4 Walls That Fit. While she’s looking to close as many deals as possible, her personal protection is paramount.“It’s so scary,” she said of showing properties. “You open up a door, it’s empty, you’re vulnerable.”In an attempt to help create safer work environments for real estate agents across the country, September has been deemed National Realtor Safety Month.“This actually started in 2015,” said Dr. Jessica Lautz of the National Association of Realtors. “There was a very unfortunate incident, a realtor was actually murdered in Arkansas.”Lautz says this year, nearly a quarter of her group’s members reported being in a fearful situation while at work. While less than 1% were actually physically harmed, she is offering advice to stay safe.“Meet someone beforehand, even have a virtual conversation,” she said. “Take a separate car to a listing presentation but then always let people know where you are.”For brokers like Dozier, they’re taking these tips and putting them into practice.“There’s pepper spray,” she said. “And you’re letting people know where you’re going and what you’re doing.”She says while making a sale is important, safety comes first.“Is it worth it to jeopardize your life for another deal,” she asked. 1505
