The announcement was made on Instagram and the closures take effect Sunday, March 15. “On behalf of our staff and community and in the interest of keeping our city safe, we are temporarily suspending our operations,” Malarkey said. Andy Williams, Commander of the California Highway Patrol Oceanside Station, is under investigation after his arrest for suspicion of domestic violence.ABC 10News obtained the request for a restraining order against Williams, filed by his ex-wife. In the court documents, she details an argument the two got into at his home in Carlsbad Oct. 19. She claims he struck her near her buttocks with enough force to leave a hand mark and welts.Carlsbad police confirmed to ABC 10News that they arrested Williams. A spokesperson for the District Attorney tells ABC 10News they are investigating the case to decide whether to file charges.Williams is out on bail. CHP has placed him on administrative leave and removed his powers as a peace officer.CHP Border Commander Chief Omar Watson sent ABC 10News a statement:"The CHP is aware of the arrest of Capt. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Authorities are resuming their search Thursday morning for actress Naya Rivera who disappeared while boating on Lake Piru with her young son.The Ventura County Sheriff's Department tweeted that Rivera may have drowned. Later Thursday, authorities began a recovery effort, saying they believed Rivera had drowned.The 33-year-old actress rented a boat at the lake with her 4-year-old son Wednesday afternoon, authorities told media. Staff at the lake found the overdue rental with her child on board but could not find Rivera.Ventura County Sheriff’s Department Cpt. Eric Buschow told the Los Angeles Times that the boy and Rivera got out of the boat for a swim but she did not follow him back onto the boat. The boy was found sleeping on the boat alone by other boaters in the lake, Buschow said.Buschow said Rivera's son is safe with family members.Rivera, from Santa Clarita, earned stardom after her breakthrough role as cheerleader Santana Lopez on the television musical "Glee." SAN DIEGO (KGTV) – Authorities in San Diego have confiscated twelve guns from campuses across the county since the anonymous hotline “Students Speaking Out” was implemented in 1999.That’s according to Dep. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Authorities Tuesday identified the man killed during a Jet Ski crash over the weekend.According to the San Diego County medical examiner, 21-year-old Darius Kennedy died after a boat struck his Jet Ski.The medical examiner says he disappeared under water but emerged. People in the water helped Kennedy, who was taken to the hospital with injuries to his head and torso. He later died.The crash happened near the north end of Ski Beach around 6:30 Saturday.The driver of the boat that crashed into the Jet Ski was questioned and the boat taken in for evidence. The name of the boat driver hasn’t been released. 638
