INDIANAPOLIS -- Indianapolis police are looking for a woman accused of shoplifting and throwing her own feces at an employee of an east side Menards.According to an incident report filed in the case, IMPD officers were dispatched to a Menards location around noon on Tuesday.Upon arrival, they spoke with the store’s loss prevention officer, who told them he’d spotted a woman take a video camera out of its box and place it into her open personal bag.When the loss prevention officer attempted to stop the woman from leaving the store, she “reached behind her and dug into her pants and pulled out a handful of feces and threw it at him, striking him on his chest.”The loss prevention officer said the woman then ran out of the door.Police said the stolen camera was eventually recovered, and investigators were able to recover surveillance video. (CNS) - More than 70,000 Orange County residents have been forced from their homes by a wind-whipped wildfire that severely injured two firefighters and was only 5% contained Tuesday.The Silverado Fire had blackened 11,200 acres by Tuesday morning, with 70,000 people under evacuation orders in Irvine and another 6,000 evacuated in Lake Forest, according to the Orange County Fire Authority. More than 750 firefighters have been deployed to battle the flames, and they'll be receiving assistance from 14 helicopters, an OCFA spokesperson said.Unlike most of the day on Monday, firefighters on the ground are being aided by water drops from helicopters, OCFA Capt. Thanh Nguyen said.SILVERADO FIRE MAP, EVACUATION CENTERS"I saw several of them this morning," Nugyen said."It's windy, but not as bad as yesterday," he added. INDIANAPOLIS -- A second threat was made to Noblesville High School in addition to the active shooter at Noblesville West Middle School, police confirmed Friday.Noblesville Police Chief Kevin Jowitt confirmed the threat to the high school at an 11 a.m. press conference on the situation at the middle school.MAIN STORY | Two shot at Noblesville West Middle School“We’re also aware of a secondary threat that has been made to Noblesville High School," Jowitt said. "We have multiple officers and a command post established at Noblesville High School there who are diligently ensuring the safety of students and staff there. In the midst of a political battle over funding for the United States Postal Service, it appears the Department of Veterans Affairs has been looking into alternative delivery services.A veterans group called Disabled Vets of America posted a statement to their website explaining the situation, after they had approached the VA about concerns their members had shared.“The VA has now confirmed to us that the United States Postal Service (USPS), which is responsible for delivering about 90% of all VA mail order prescriptions, has indeed been delayed in delivering these critical medications by an average of almost 25% over the past year, with many locations experiencing much more significant delays,” the statement posted to the DAV’s website states.The VA acknowledged it was looking into delivery services outside the USPS in an email exchange with the DAV, according to CNN.“To help mitigate these postal delays, the VA has been forced to switch to alternative delivery services in a number of areas across the country and is taking other actions to expedite processing and delivery of prescriptions,” the statement from DAV reads.The VA has had an increase in demand for mail-order prescriptions during the coronavirus pandemic, they told CNN.
