On Aug. 5, assistant attorney general Mary Lawton issued a memorandum opinion that "no one may be a judge in his own case" and that "the President cannot pardon himself."Despite Lawton's opinion, some legal experts believe that a President may still be able to issue their own pardon. DUBLIN, Calif. – Actress Lori Loughlin has surrendered herself to authorities to begin her two-month prison sentence for her involvement in the college admissions scam.NBC News and The Associated Press report that Loughlin reported to the Federal Correctional Institution in Dublin, California, on Friday to be processed.The former “Full House” star showed up early. She wasn’t ordered to report to the San Francisco- area prison until Nov. 19, NBC News reports.Earlier this year, Loughlin and her husband, fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli, pleaded guilty for paying 0,000 in bribes to cheat the college admissions process.It came to light in 2019 that the couple paid the money to get their two daughters into the University of Southern California as crew recruits, even though they aren’t rowers.Loughlin and Giannulli were among several people arrested in the case that was called “Operation Varsity Blues.”Loughlin was handed her two-month prison sentence in August, when a judge accepted her plea deal. EL CAJON, Calif. (KGTV) - A man with dementia and schizophrenia has been missing from an El Cajon nursing facility for two weeks, and the family needs your help locating him. Sixty-six-year-old Agustin Cerda walked away from Avocado Post Acute Skilled Nursing Facility on March 4th and never returned. His family says he was allowed to leave the facility.Now they’ve posted flyers around the city in hopes that someone will recognize him and call police. They’ve also put his picture on Facebook and received over 200 shares. Cerda’s niece Aly Cerda said, “He may be sleeping on the streets, and we have a large homeless population so he can be anywhere. So it’s hard to say where to look next, but we’re going to keep our efforts in place to make sure he’s found safe.”Cerda had gone missing twice before but was found in Tijuana the next day at his brother’s house. Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, received his initial dose of a coronavirus vaccine Tuesday morning. Fauci was among a group of federal government health officials and health care workers who were vaccinated. Those vaccinated with Moderna's coronavirus vaccine will be asked to get a booster 28 days later.Fauci has expressed optimism that getting the US to herd immunity through a coronavirus vaccine will begin allowing Americans to return to normal.
