SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Windmill Farms Community Market in Del Cerro is asking for the public's help locating their stolen trailer.The family-owned grocery store has been serving San Diego since 2003 with a mission to provide healthy, organic foods at affordable prices. Surveillance video from the early morning hours on Sunday captures a white SUV with black rims circling the market. At around 4:30 a.m. the SUV hauls off the trailer. “Just unbelievable," said Michael Villegas, produce manager and buyer. “That trailer was a big part of our business; everything we had for our events was in that trailer."Villegas is also in charge of the store's community events, like bringing food to the Lake Murray 4th of July Fireworks and bringing fresh produce to schools. “Schools depend on us to do the events, if we have to start over it’s going to be tough," said Villegas.The trailer held all their tents, tarps, tables, and BBQ's.Villegas estimates the loss at around ,000. “I just hope we can get it back, you know, that would be awesome if we could get it back, if anybody seen anything give us a call," said Villegas. A spokesperson for San Diego Police says a report was filed and a detective should get the case in a few days. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Two people were hospitalized with serious injuries after their small engine plane crashed near Montgomery Field Airport on Thursday afternoon.The incident was reported around 4:30 p.m. near the executive airport at Kearny Villa Road and Balboa Avenue.According to the San Diego Police Department, a witness said the plane crashed behind a building near the airport and was helping the pilot.The plane had just taken off from the airport when it clipped trees and crash landed in an open space behind the Kyocera business building on Balboa Avenue, said Dan Eddy, Battalion Chief of the San Diego Fire Department Two male passengers were responsive when crews arrived but were transported with major injuries.Police said there was no active fire and no structures or vehicles were damaged.Eddy estimated at least 20 gallons of fuel spilled from the wrecked plane.The plane missed a high voltage area by about 30 feet, said Eddy.No further information was provided at this time. 1004

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Young adults in the U.S. are moving more frequently than they did in 1960, according to a new report by Zillow. Data from San Diego, however, paints a different picture. According to the site, 33.8 percent of young adults in 1960 lived in their current home for less than two years. In 2017, more than 45 percent of young adults had lived in their current home for less than two years. San Diego, however, bucks the trend. In America’s Finest City, in 2017 the share of young adults who lived in a home less than two years is 50.6 percent, down from 54.4 percent in 1960. The data show that young San Diegans are moving less than in 1960. Among young adults who recently moved in the San Diego area, more than 68 percent moved within the metro, while 9.4 percent moved from a different metro in the state and 22.3 percent moved from outside the state. According to Zillow, changes in workplace norms have contributed to the changes in housing tenures. Zillow also says that, rather than climb the corporate ladder, many young adults move from one role or job to the next. The typical employed Millennial has been with their current employer for 2.8 years, according to Zillow. 1205

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - While many Americans may be divided on whether they will get a COVID-19 vaccine once one is available, National City’s mayor is about to be part of the trial process.“I’m excited, kind of nervous,” said National City Mayor Alejandra Sotelo-Solis. “As a leader, I will step up, physically, mentally, and emotionally for my community because we need to be part of the solution.”After learning more about Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen Phase 3 vaccine trial happening in National City, Sotelo-Solis said she decided the right move was to apply to become a trial participant herself.“I believe, as a leader, you should demonstrate trust in the system,” she said. “I was able to ask more detailed questions; I am a survivor of melanoma cancer, you know, getting all those questions answered. I will be an active participant in the vaccine trial starting Friday.”Johnson & Johnson is aiming to recruit 60,000 people worldwide to take part in its trial. UC San Diego is participating in the study locally and looking to enroll 2,000 volunteers.Trailers that act as a vaccine clinic have been set up at El Toyon Park in National City, and the trial resumed last week.Across the county, Hispanic and Latino communities have been hit the hardest by COVID-19. The Chicano Federation has been working as part of the San Diego Latino Health Coalition to address the issues and provide helpful information about vaccine trials.“One of the things we recognized early on is that our Spanish speaking community and Latino community here in San Diego needed more education about vaccine trials,” said Nancy Maldonado, President, and CEO of the Chicano Federation. “We want our community, particularly our Spanish speaking community, to have all the education they need around the vaccine and around vaccine trials.”Maldonado said the goal is to make sure Southbay residents have the information they need to make informed decisions, and she applauds Sotelo-Solis for her efforts.“One of the best ways to gain trust is to lead by example and not ask someone to do something that you wouldn’t do yourself,” said Maldonado.“If I can help someone trust in vaccine trials and medical systems as a whole, we can really start chipping away at building true and significant trust,” said Sotelo-Solis.Sotelo-Solis said she will have her blood drawn and get a shot as part of the trial on Friday morning.UCSD is still recruiting participants for this trial. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Two people were killed Tuesday night in two separate crashes on state Route 54 in the Paradise Hills area.At around 9:30 p.m., the California Highway Patrol said a male driver lost control of his pickup truck and overturned off westbound SR-54 near Reo Drive.According to the CHP, the driver and his three female passengers was ejected. The driver was then run over by a passing vehicle, the CHP said.The driver, who was not identified, was declared dead at the scene. The three women were taken to the hospital with injuries of unknown severity.About an hour after the deadly rollover, CHP officials said a Honda CRV slammed into the back of a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck that was stopped in the backup traffic on westbound SR-54 caused by the initial wreck.ABC 10News learned a passenger in the CRV died in the crash, but the driver left the scene and has not been located.The Silverado's female driver was taken to the hospital for treatment of major injuries.Both crashes are under investigation; the CHP said "alcohol/and or drugs are suspected factors" in the second collision. 1116
