The summit aims to build a closer China-Africa community with a shared future, further dovetail China's Belt and Road Initiative with African development, set a new path for a higher level of China-Africa cooperation and deepen people-to-people exchanges.

"We agree to strengthen collective dialogue, enhance traditional friendship, deepen practical cooperation, and work together toward an even stronger China-Africa community with a shared future," it says.

Also at the JCIC meeting, relevant ministries on both sides reported the progress of bilateral cooperation in such fields as science and technology, trade, agriculture, health care and transportation, and laid out their plans and proposals on future collaboration.

"The two sides should synergize their development strategies, fully implement the results of the 2018 Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, bring forth innovative cooperation models, accelerate the negotiation on signing the investment protection agreement, promote collaboration in industries, trade, infrastructure and other key areas, further give play to the role of private enterprises, upgrade the mutually beneficial cooperation between the two sides and bring benefits to both peoples," Li said.

An interim secretariat that oversees running of this center serving as a hub for robust China-Africa cooperation to advance the green agenda was launched in August this year.
