BEIJING, Aug. 1 (Xinhua) -- Soldiers and officers of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) and armed police force have expressed support for the graft probe of former military leader Guo Boxiong, according to a report in the Saturday edition of the PLA Daily.
Ling Jihua, former vice chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee, has been expelled from the CPC and removed from public office, according to a decision made at a meeting of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee on Monday.
The two countries also reaffirmed to solve their disputes through negotiation and consultation in a series of bilateral documents, including the Joint Statement of the China-Philippines Experts Group Meeting on Confidence-Building Measures of 1999, the Joint Statement between the Government of the People's Republic of China and the Government of the Republic of the Philippines on the Framework of Bilateral Cooperation in the Twenty-First Century of 2000, the Joint Press Statement of the Third China-Philippines Experts' Group Meeting on Confidence-Building Measures of 2001, the Joint Press Statement between the Government of the People's Republic of China and the Government of the Republic of the Philippines of 2004 and the Joint Statement between the People's Republic of China and the Republic of the Philippines of 2011, according to Hua.
Xi, also general secretary of the CPC Central Committee, made the remarks on Friday at a study session attended by members of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, according to a press release on Saturday.
"We will continue knocking on the doors of our development partners as we strive to ensure that our citizens are accorded all the basic services they require. An educated nation is a wealthy nation, as such our priority ratings on education are very high as a government," she said.
