(KGTV) — Long Beach Police and transit officials are investigating whether a crime was committed this week when a man in a suit dragged an unconscious, partially naked man off a train, leaving him on the platform.[Warning: graphic video] Cell phone video shows the moments when the man dragged the other man off the train at about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday. The man recording the video says the unconscious man had just suffered a seizure, Los Angeles ABC-affiliate KABC reported.The man in the suit then grabs the unconscious man's belongings and tosses them off the train and returns to his seat.The man recording the video argued with the man in the suit about what he had done. The two of them continued to argue for about five minutes before the man in the suit gets off the train to check on the unconscious man.Medics eventually arrive to help the unconscious man, who was taken to a nearby hospital. His condition is not yet clear.Police and train officials are now investigating if the man in the suit committed a crime by dragging the man off the train."Obviously, this is very disturbing and we never want to see this on our system. LOS ANGELES (CNS) - Police worked Saturday morning to disperse crowds in downtown Los Angeles as multiple businesses were looted following demonstrations against police brutality following the in-custody death of George Floyd in Minneapolis Monday .Hundreds were reportedly arrested, and at least five police officers were injured, multiple media outlets reported.The Target store at Seventh and Figueroa streets, a Rite Aid store at 7th and Hope streets, along with the 6th Street Market and the Starbucks on Sixth Street between Broadway and Main Street and jewelry stores near Sixth Street and Broadway were among the businesses looted just before midnight Friday.A trash can was set on fire near Olympic Boulevard and Hill Street and quickly extinguished by officers. Three fires were set near the intersection of Hill and Seventh streets, one in the intersection, another south of the intersection on Hill Street and a third on a sidewalk near a building.As Los Angeles firefighters arrived to extinguish the flames, someone in the crowd grabbed a department fire hose and tossed it into the fire burning in the intersection.At least one Los Angeles Police Department cruiser was tagged with graffiti.Police set up skirmish lines throughout the downtown area and, in at least one instance, fired non-lethal ammunition as they pushed a crowd out of the area, some in the crowd stopping to hide behind vehicles to throw objects at officers.At least 300 people were reportedly arrested, KABC7 reported. LOS ANGELES (CNS) - Warning again that holiday gatherings can lead to spikes in coronavirus cases, Los Angeles County's public health director said Wednesday residents should begin planning safer ways to celebrate upcoming fall holidays, but the county backed down from its previously announced ban on trick-or-treating for Halloween."Our guidelines have been slightly revised, so we'd ask that people go back and look at them to distinguish between those activities that are not permitted by the health officer order -- that includes events, gatherings parties -- those are just not allowed," Barbara Ferrer said. "They're not allowed for anything. ... The only activities you can have a party or gathering for are with those people that are in your household."On Tuesday, the Department of Public Health posted Halloween guidelines on its website stating that door-to-door trick-or-treating is banned under the county health order, as is "trunk-to-trunk" treat distribution, in which children take candy from trunks of parked cars. By Wednesday, however, the guidelines were changed, with trick-or-treating listed as "not recommended," instead of "not permitted."Despite that change, Ferrer still insisted that allowing children to go door-to-door during the coronavirus pandemic isn't safe."Trick-or-treating, we're highly recommending that it not happen," she said. "We don't think it's an appropriate activity during a pandemic. ... You know, there's no guarantee when you go trick-or-treating that your child goes up to a house where the person who opens the door is wearing a face covering. And when you don't know the people opening the door, there's no guarantee they're not sick and that the candy they're passing out that they've touched may not be safe for you to want your child to be sharing."Ferrer again walked through data from the past several months showing surges in coronavirus cases, hospitalizations and deaths following the spate of public gatherings that occurred over the Fourth of July holiday. "This will be especially true as we're going into the fall and winter months, when we have a number of important religious and secular holidays. But unfortunately what we have learned over the last seven months is that we cannot return to normal at this time. We actually need to maintain even more our vigilance so we can continue to suppress the spread of the virus and get to a place where we can safely reopen additional sectors, particularly our schools."Ferrer announced another 61 coronavirus-related deaths in the county, bringing the cumulative countywide total from throughout the pandemic to 6,090.
