SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego home values continue to grow as the market shows signs of slowing, according to a report by Zillow. The company says the median home value in San Diego currently sits at 1,500, rising just over one percent year-over-year. According to Zillow, at this time last year, home values were growing by about 6.1 percent. San Diego’s housing inventory also increased over the last year, jumping six percent. According to the site, there are 531 more homes on the market than last July. In the rest of the U.S., the median home is worth 9,000, up 5.2 percent from a year ago. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego Police investigated Wednesday threats made against multiple professors at University of San Diego. A flyer with gun crosshairs was slipped under the office doors of two professors, USD confirmed. The threats also included flyers with the professors’ names and pictures, calling them fascists and urging students to boycott their classes, 10News learned."A professor took responsibility for the flyers and the inappropriate behavior. The individual was suspended, removed from campus and is not permitted to return to campus or participate in any USD-related off-campus events while we conduct our investigation and initiate next steps. The professor has complied with these directives, has not returned to the campus, and to our knowledge, similar inappropriate behavior has not occurred," USD officials said.University officials said they notified San Diego Police upon learning about the threats last week. However, a police spokesperson said they just learned of the threats and opened their investigation today. At 4 p.m., faculty gathered for a meeting with administrators to learn about the situation. About the same time, students gathered in front of the Theology and Religious Studies building, saying they weren’t told about the threats. “The university has a duty and an obligation to protect public image. They have probably legal obligations, I'm assuming. But they also have an obligation to the student body. They have an obligation to make sure that we feel safe, that when I walk on this campus I'm aware if something's taken place that's put my safety or my professor's safety in danger,” said senior Alexa Withrow. A campus-wide email was sent out later Wednesday afternoon, telling students, "the Department of Public Safety and the San Diego Police Department were immediately contacted, an investigation was initiated and a communication was sent to the College faculty."Counseling was made available to students.One of the USD professors received a temporary restraining order against Associate Professor Louis Komjathy. The documents name Komjathy as the one responsible for the threats and say he was upset about a promotion he was denied. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego County Sheriff Bill Gore said Friday a new review of the death of Rebecca Zahau, whose body was found hanging at the Spreckels Mansion in Coronado in 2011, found no evidence she "died at the hands of another," and the department will not reopen the case.The review, conducted this year, involved officials from the Sheriff's Major Crimes Division, Sheriff's Homicide Detail, Sheriff's Crime Lab, County Medical Examiner's Office and Coronado Police Department who were not part of the original investigation. The team looked at the case with "fresh eyes", Gore said.Zahau, 32, was the girlfriend of the mansion’s owner, Arizona pharmaceutical CEO Jonah Shacknai. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — San Diego leaders say they are working to help prepare the county's homeless population to protect themselves from the coronavirus.An outreach team has been busy installing hand washing stations across San Diego to address the virus concerns as it affects those experiencing homelessness. Team members have been helping individuals protect themselves against the virus by passing out hygiene kits that include hand sanitizer, info on symptoms, water, soap, tissues, and hand wipes.Nurses have also started to visit San Diego shelters to help prepare those staying there, especially those suffering from underlying medical conditions or who are older. Leaders say nurses are prepared to be on site to assist with screening potential patients and identify potential housing options if they need to be moved for care. Potential options include motels, government buidlings or facilities, or tents, according to leaders.According to the county, medical professionals are on high alert for any possible local outbreak. Currently, one person has been confirmed to have coronavirus. That patient is said to be doing well. Leaders added that there is no evidence of "community-based transmission" in San Diego.Those who are testing in San Diego County must do so through a primary doctor.
