NEW YORK (AP) — Nearly six months after the coronavirus forced its closure, the 9/11 Memorial Museum will be reopening on the anniversary of the terrorist attacks next month. The memorial plaza had been open to the public with social distancing restrictions since early July, but the museum remained closed as did other cultural institutions. The anniversary day re-opening will be reserved for families of those killed in the 2001 attack and the 1993 World Trade Center attack. The public will be able to visit starting Sept. 12. NEW YORK (AP) — This year’s Black Friday was the biggest ever for online sales, as fewer people hit the stores and shoppers rang up .4 billion in transactions from their phones, computers and tablets.That’s just behind the .9 billion haul of last year’s Cyber Monday, which holds the one-day record for online sales, according to Adobe Analytics. Adobe measures sales at 80 of the top 100 U.S. online retailers.Adobe expects online sales to jump to another record this Cyber Monday with an estimated total of .4 billion. Much of the shopping is happening on people’s phones, which accounted for 39% of all online sales Friday and 61% of online traffic.Shoppers have been looking for “Frozen 2” toys in particular. Other top purchases included sports video games and Apple laptops.All the online shopping may have helped thin the crowd at malls on Black Friday.Traffic at stores fell 2.1% on Black Friday from a year ago, according to preliminary figures from RetailNext. The drop in traffic helped lead to a 1.6% dip in sales.Online and in-store shopping aren’t always completely separate, though. NOBLESVILLE, Ind. — President Donald Trump thanked an Indiana teacher for helping thwart a school shooting on Friday at Noblesville West Middle School outside of Indianapolis."Thanks to very brave Teacher & Hero Jason Seaman of Noblesville, Indiana, for his heroic act in saving so many precious young lives. His quick and automatic action is being talked about all over the world!" Trump tweeted.Seaman is a science teacher at the school, and multiple students on the scene say Seaman was the teacher who helped stop the shooter.His mother, Kristi, says her son was shot in the abdomen, the hip and the forearm, according to her Facebook page. She says Jason is out of surgery and is "doing well."According to his LinkedIn page, Seaman has been a science teacher at Noblesville schools since July 2014. He is also the head football coach for the seventh-grade team.A student who was in the classroom at the time of the incident credited the teacher with stopping the shooting from being worse than it was.Southern Illinois University football also tweeted about Seaman.
